The scenes set around (I think) the Med very much looked like the completed board. Elements of the plot also mirrored your game, with antagonistic tribes, caves, etc.

Well, in another act of supreme threadomancy, I am resurrecting this one after 8 years, because I am about to play the Cave Wars game again with some chums at the weekend, and have actually added some more great apes...

This first one is a big boy indeed, from Crooked Dice. He's resin.



This one is from Lucid Eye - I think Steve Saleh has an ape fixation, because this is one of several giant apes in his Savage Core range, along with a host of other simians of various shapes, sizes and denominations.




Here's how they scale up / face off...





I've also finished painting another smaller Saleh simian character... 'Now then lads, I want a good clean fight... '



And here are the new additions with the Simian tribe from way back when. Holding up well considering they were painted about 10 years ago and had quite a lot of handling - although not for the last few years...



I also have a shedload of other Lucid Eye Caveman stuff to paint, including (surprisingly) cavemen, red simians, and Amazons. These have sat in a box in the lead pile for about six years. I really need to do them...

I notice Steve's also added a whole load of other different chimp characters / shaman / leaders to his catalogue over the last couple fo years. So I guess I really ought to get these too. Just for completeness, you know...
