I really like the look of those figures (fruit and nuts on display or not) and you've made a great job of them. Out of interest,  what made them fiddly to paint (I'm no good at fiddly painting).

Hard to say Steve. They just seemed to take me an awfully long time to paint.

You know how it is - some figures the paint just seems to fly onto them and the whole process is an absolute pleasure.
And sometimes it seems a right chore.

All I can say is - despite the fact that these are manifestly delightful figures - painting them  felt like a bit of a drawn-out chore.

Just the way it goes sometimes. Maybe more to do with my state of mind at the time than the figures themselves. Who knows...  :)

I know what you mean. I've painted figures that just never seemed to be finished as I kept on spotting something I'd missed or a badly defined line I'd blurred
I've also painted some figures that seemed to come together very quickly,  which is much better for morale. The West Wind Requiem figures I brought to BLAM last year were like that. I'm liking the Lucid Eye stuff a lot, I just can't justify a use for it. I really need to stick a period out to some sort of conclusion.

They're very well painted figures indeed.

Just came across these, and I'm very impressed with what I see, especially with the skin tones.   8)

Just stumbled across this 31-page forum extravaganza and wanted to add a hearty congrats to Captain Blood. Your work on both the figures and terrain is truly inspirational, and I will reread it next time I start a terrain project.

Is there a homepage (or specific forum thread) for this "BLAM" event? Also wondering if there are any similar forum-related events taking place in France.

Thanx again, & keep up the great work!

Bonjour Phil, et merci.

No, there isn't a BLAM thread as such in the open forum, although there is a closed user group for people signed up to BLAM.
Several nationalities have their own 'Lead Adventure Club - X nationality' with private boards here on LAF, but as far as I know, there isn't a French one yet. So if you and any compatriots wanted to try to get a French Lead Adventure Meeting off the ground, please notify Prof Witchheimer and he is usually willing to set up a closed board for you to invite French LAFers, and to talk about the organisation of your event, which I suppose would be a FLAM (or possibly a flambee  ;))

I guess the thing to do would be to post a thread in the general wargames discussion board to ask how many French people would be interested in such a venture. LAF weekends have proved very successful and enjoyable in a number of other countries. It's perfectly okay to post in French by the way. Although English is the usual language of the forum, there is no rule to say English has to be used, so if you wanted to attract the attention of French LAFers, a thread in French to assess interest and start the conversation off would be perfectly alright  :)

Bon chances!

Thank you. Glad you like it. Game reports will follow. Had one test game with some friends - worked well. Hoping to have a second test game with refinements with a few LAF chums in a couple of weeks time. Then the whole set up should be in good shape for playing at BLAM in October  :)

Fantastic work as usual Richard, I can't wait to see this at BLAM. I hope I get a chance to play but I think all 30 odd Blammers will be thinking the same lol.
