i have not found a lot of pictorial evidence about the iranian army ...

it seem's that german WW1 or early WW2 uniforms will work ...
Dans les situations critiques, quand on parle avec un calibre bien en pogne, personne ne conteste plus. Y'a des statistiques là-dessus.

That's what I was able to find:

Iranian cavalry in 1941

Iranian Gendarmerie in Qazvin. June 1941

General Zahedi - the leader of the pro-German factions in the Iranian army

Iran Air Force pilots

Talk of a Soviet soldier with the captive Iranian soldiers

Iraqi soldier (irregular?) oversees the German nationals deported from Iran.

Iraqi soldier (officer?)

Meeting of British and Iraqi military personnel.

Iraqi Army Soldiers

Iraqi artillery

As I understand it - the Iraqi sailors.

The officers

Iranian Cavalry

infantry

Good information about Iranian artillery: http://www.kavehfarrokh.com/military-history-1900-present/iranian-artillery-units-early-1900s-1941/

And I is not the first to become interested in the Iraqi army in the wargame:

You welcome!

In my opinion for the conversion of the Iraqi infantry you can use figures the Austro-Hungarian infantry in tunic. Or the Hungarians in the second world war.
Cavalrymen are similar to Russian cavalry during the First World War.

The Campaign in Western Asia volume of the official Indian history has very detailed maps and accounts of the operations from the British view point, including a tank assault on a fort. Well worth getting, even if they are rather patchy on the Iranian side of things. A decent starting point for the latter is Osprey's Iran at War.
