Thanks again for the encouraging feedback folks. As I have said before, this project is pleasant to the point of life affirming for many reasons and I enjoy enthusiastic feedback, critical or otherwise.
these robots will surely soon attract the attention of Mega City One's finest.
The hardest decision in this entire project will be whether to fight MC1 Judges or the newer Renegade Robots against your Sovs in the first game. Its definitely a good complaint to have

And I just noticed the Boing! ad

Thats the official BOING logo from somewhere on the 2000AD site (or possibly from one of the 2000AD artists sites). Its not the last Boing sign you are going to see around here, as I was sent a laser cut piece as a gift only last week... details to follow at a later date.
So cool. I used to dislike the aesthetic of the Judge Dredd robots but it's really growing on me now.
Many have commented on how poorly they regard the Dredd robots since they were released. They are perhaps not the finest examples of the miniature sculpting art in existence, but they look just like the source material as far as I am concerned. Maybe the promo images didnt show them in a great light, I dont know.
I do know that I am rather pleased with how they have turned out and that I have thoroughly enjoyed painting them, so they get two digital manipulators up from me.
As a setting for miniature gaming, Judge Dredd is much more fun than I used to think it was.
The Dredd setting is always a subversive mix of the sublime and the ridiculous. The 2012 Dredd movie covered one aspect of the setting almost perfectly, but there is far more to it than that: its definitely fun as well as gritty and horrible. I think that the failed campy movie effort with Stallone in 95 made the makers of Dredd wary of showing anything too wacky in the first (and sadly, last) movie. Understandable.
As a fertile environment for sci-fi gaming, its hard to beat. Pretty much everything fits in.
