I would absolutely love to put your table and mine together with DeltaDog and Anpu, and watch the collective jaws around the world plunge to Earth due to the sheer awesome.

 :D ;D

Now that would be quite a sight!

Really outstanding stuff. Especially the rust effects are very good. Is there a chance for a tutorial how to do this?

Just a quickie - a couple of shots of the finished improvised generators from page 25. The transformation from WH40K Galvanic (?) servo-hauler to rusty ol' chugger is complete, and not a skull in sight.

Hi all,

Been quiet for a bit as work ruled all but it's Xmas, so my head is above the water and my hand has reached for the scalpel and glue.

I have now got a base board to try and tie all this Junktown stuff together, but the weather here is so lousy I won't get a chance to do much on it yet so I've started something else - the Junktown main gate.

I'm showing it as a fairly early WIP, before I have gone mad with the bits box, just to give a sense of it. It's bound to change a bit as it develops.

The concept of the whole of Junktown is a small reserve airfield/airforce base that picked up waifs and strays in the years after the war. The main gate is built around the original base guard room and it's sentry gun.  The vehicle on the right will be buried under stuff, making it a fixed emplacement (can't get the spares!). The Hind will have the sign 'Welcome to Junktown' along its tail and body, once the first bit of painting is done.

Pics...

Looks very cool! Love the idea of knackered old vehicles being used as fixed emplacements or wall parts.

First round of 'bits-pimping' done from the bits box - the strong point, complete with its own power supply

Is that the Plasticville radio station you're using for the guardhouse?  I may have to steal that idea - I couldn't figure out how I wanted to work with that piece...

Wonderful.
As usual...
 :-* :-*

Your bits hoarding is worse than mine, which makes me feel so much more justified in getting more.
 :D

BTW: Where is that air con unit on the guard house from?
I feel that I should recognise it but it is escaping me at the moment...
 :)

It was the generator on the pallet, powering the defensive point I was going to ask about?

Many thanks for the kind comments all. In answer to questions various:

The aircon unit is from the Scene. Shameless plug for their stuff - it's wonderful and very reasonably priced. Link below

And as for bits-hoarding, it's not a hobby it's a way of life. I now spend more money on bits than anything else I think. There's probably a counselling course...

The generator is from TT Combat - also lovely. Minor bit of work to de-eagle'n'skull it but a very cool piece and you get 4 in a set. Now I've used one of the 4 I'll almost certainly have to get another set, just in case I run out (see counselling above). Link below

Yes - that is the Plasticville Radio Station. It always looked like a Guardroom to me but I hadn't worked out how to use it - DA NAH!

And so, on to the final result of bits-pimping. Stand-by. It's a bit of a pic overload.

Hah. I thought when I saw the first set of photos that the windows on the Hind were covered in old toilet seats. I see now you were more sensible than that.
