Psyber, great minis and project, CONGRATULATIONS:-*

Well done. I had considered painting my Black Plague stuff but after receiving it have decided otherwise.

The only Zombicide Black Plague figure worth of painting IMHO is Piper.   :-*

Oh my, I wasn't aware of that miniature...

Thanks for all the kind words guys! Making a start on my Skaven now. I realised that I'm scarily close to finishing the basic set, and that's given me the motivation to push on :)

THREADOMANCY!!!

Haven't updated this project in ages. I got hugely distracted by Conan, and Marvel super heroes, and Batman... BUT I have been plugging away with Warhammer quest still.

I haven't finished those pesky Skaven yet (at least they're now assembled and joining the paint queue). This little fellow has been on the desk for months though, so I present to you Flimbo Bagshot, the Halfling Thief.

Nice addition, a little threadomancy can be a good thing!

Back again - I seem to have rediscovered my Quest mojo.

At the moment I'm struggling with my camera setup. I've just made a new lightbox, but my lights just aren't as good as the trusty old ones I started this thread with, and the colour balancing/;lighting is all over the place.

While I work it out, I did a new test model for some Skaven Clanrats. In the end I took this snap on my phone, and it's not bad. I'm happy with this test model anyhow, so I'm going to batch-paint five more to start with. I need 12 Clanrats and a champion/warlord model, and I'm using the Island of Blood two-part plastics, which save a lot of assembly time, and look pretty good I think!

They look super - and the IoB Skaven are actually lovely models too.

In fact, apart from not painting all the IoB clanrats ('cos you will never need more than about 12), the other Skaven models are all great for WHQ too. :)

Incredibly, I've managed to keep pace with this project log, ready for another Monday update. I give to you the first of my Minotaurs:

For anyone unfamiliar with Warhammer Quest, the Minotaur is the 'big bad' of the basic game. It's possible to face D3 Minotaurs in your first game, which is almost impossible to defeat. If you get one of the buggers, you're going to have a a hard time :)

The choice of model here isn't everyone's favourite - it's not even my favourite, but good Minotaurs are hard to find. I searched and searched and basically came to the conclusion that these goofy ones from the 90s, if painted well, are about as good as it gets. For anyone wondering: Scibor does three great minotaurs, but a bit too expensive for my blood. Avatars of War do my favourite minotaur, but only have two poses and they didn't look easy to convert. The new GW plastics are, to my eyes, ugly as sin (what's going on with those weird feet?). The original Warhammer Quest ones, although a marvel when they were made, now look very dated and not very threatening compared to my hard-bitten warriors. No-one wants a cuddly Minotaur!

The advantage of using these particular models is that the Minotaur Lord, which came out at the same time, is a genuinely nice figure, and will fit in with his Minotaur minions nicely. I just secured one off eBay, so eventually I'll be painting him along two more basic Minotaurs to match the one above

I'm responding to an OLD post from this thread, but if you're looking for a Citadel Minotaur, I highly recommend the one from their Advanced Dungeons & Dragons line.  I love the big belly.

Started motoring along again. I was very happy with my colour test Skaven, so I completed five of his buddies.

Here's a couple of close-ups of the heavily armoured ratty:

Next up: a Warlord, Grey Seer, six more Clanrats, and 12 Rats.
