Great work!

He does seem quite "heroic" in a way, but it is strange how he wears his cloak with the fur on the inside, skin out!
Between the idea
And the reality
Between the motion
And the act
Falls the Shadow

That's because of his grafitti; doesn't look half as good on fur...  :D

Lovely work! Good thing you had those spare shields, eh?

The shields saga is driving me nuts. Years ago I had a little bag with about 10 of those shields (probably worth their weight in gold now). The idea was to use them for a unit of very bling knights, but I never got round to it. Now I've been through every box in the loft five times and those shields are nowhere to be seen. So yes - plastic shields and decals to the rescue! (Quite pleased actually that one of the decals matched the knight's heraldry).

Another update. Say whaaaat!?

On my to-do list for ages has been to paint up some alternative female models for each of the principle heroes. I've been searching for suitable models, and finally made a start with the Barbarian.

Disclaimer: I normally hate chainmail bikini models with a passion. But this came as part of a Kickstarter from Knightmare Miniatures, and this Boris Woloszyn sculpt was just so nice that I had to paint it. Properly old skool, and I think she'll make a great addition to the collection.

I have a female Elf on my painting table right now, but I'm also in the process of painting up some more monsters, so we'll see what gets done first as I flit endlessly between projects  lol

Chaos hero is ace! Bloody good model! But you’re right chainmail bikini chic is also pretty cool!
Top notch painting on both!

She looks like she stepped straight off the cover of a 1980s Dragon magazine! Totally takes me back to my mis-spent youth!

I like what you did with that figure. Your painting is excellent and she will fit right into the lineup for the game!

I couldn't pass up on that Kickstarter either, very cool minis.

Yes, but when they are properly proportioned and tastefully done they can be a thing of beauty.  You did this model justice.

It's a rare thing that I paint up an Oldhammer model and don't enjoy it. But this beaky guy was a royal PITA. Slightly miscast, and with what I suspect may be a tiny bit of lead rot that I noticed after stripping the old paint, he was a real chore. Even the flying stand snapped while I was varnishing, meaning I had to do more touch-ups after the repair. Truly, a cursed model! But never mind - I now have the two Chaos Sorcerers I need, one on foot and one on disc, so I can get back to my beloved undead!

My favourite sorceror from that era; he features prominently in my Tzeentch-themed Warriors of Chaos army.

And sometimes miniatures are just like that; they're more individual than we think, even when they're casts of the same sculpt. I had a great time painting up my first RT era Dreadnought years ago. But when I did up another one last year, it was as if the model fought me every step of the way. I finished him, but for some reason there was loads less enjoyment than with the previous one, plus there were and all kinds of mishaps along the way. And they were exactly the same model!

Your sorceror came out looking great though, regardless of his resistance. The yellow is perfectly offset by the purple and blue 8)
