Don't worry Delta, your sentries are next on the list to be cleaned and reviewd, and bit lower on the list to be painted. This test scenic piece is draining me right now.

Finished doing all of the rubble, when it has dried tomorrow I'll go over with thinned down filler (almost a wash) to tie it all in and then she is ready for primer I think. Can't decide whether to add extra 0.2mm plastic floorplates on the open areas or just cover it with thinned down filler and be done with it. Choices, choices.

Loose tiles ok too? Easier to just do a few of them here and there (and to blend in with the rubble). Did a try out with some cardboard 1x1 metre (in scale) floorplates and it just did not work, I think.

I'd say floortiles. Large floorplates are more a thing for industrial sites, unless they are marble slabs in a high-end office (and then often only the lobby), which are a nuisance to paint convincingly. Tiles mean this may have been a hospital, rental appartment, school or office. Just more flexible that way.

Then I'm lucky and unlucky in one go. I've got some Evergreen tile sheets, 1/12th inch, 1/8th inch and half a sheet of 1/3rd inch, the last one being perfect for my needs. But I bought those almost 10 years ago and the price sticker is no longer compatible with current prices (or funds).  lol  Well, there are 355 tiles left on the sheet I have. If I use these selectively for just the groundfloor sections I should be able to have enough for all 4 ruins in the set. Top floors, other then the bathroom section, will have to do with heavy paper cut and sanded to look like worn linoleum, or just stick to mostly bare concrete.

Concentrate on a stylish, tiled foyer?

Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers. P. Cushing

I presume most of the linoleum flooring would have been scavenged and burned in these wasteland conditions? So bare concrete flooring fits the bill ok me thinks. :)

The build is looking beautiful so for dude.

I think patches of floor tiles remaining would work, with the plain concrete painted up with those glue marks you get when you remove floor tiles.

So, how about this then?

Have 2 loose tiles left that I'll place somewhere. Next time I will remember to raise the lower parts of the doors somewhat so tiles can fit underneath.

Gunbird, been so loving this thread. Full of win as the kids say. LOL
Can't wait to see what else you got coming.
Love the use of the Disney Cars die cast toys you and others been using for this genre.
Just located a substantial source of them at $2 a pop or better. Picked up a few to try your rusting and weathering tutorials on.

Too dark, right?

Basecoat of cheap "black" acrylic paint (more of a Dark Grey) drybrushed with Vallejo Light Grey.
