Well of Dreams and Sorrows
« on: February 22, 2016, 08:03:32 AM »
I went on another expedition into Felstad with the family again over the weekend - this week we played the Well of Dreams and Sorrows scenario (mostly to make use of a new terrain piece!)

A full report and many more pictures can be found on my blog:

A very nice read, once again.

I really like your table. It's simple but evocative in a good way, and looks fun to play on (as the AAR's also seem to imply)

I liked it and may implement some similar rules for our campaign.

interesting how good a plain-coloured but 'neat and tidy' table looks with good terrain pieces arrayed on it like that.

Thanks everyone!

Awesome way for kids to practice math. Looks like fun.

It's true - my son first learned quick mental calculation of simple addition (of numbers up to 12) (plus doubling) playing Hordes of the Things when I started him out with that seven years ago.

Your central terrain piece looks great and I may copy it.  I agree about the fun of having more monsters.  Of course my background is D&D, rather than tournament-style mini's games, so the random arrival and behavior of the monsters is always welcome.

I think it's great that your family are all playing together. My Mom and Dad had no interest in wargaming so my brother and I always ending up fighting each other ... and then FIGHTING each other!

Nice scenery too. You seem to have struck the balance between realistic and playable quite nicely.

= )
I know the voices aren't real .... but they have such FASCINATING ideas!

While my background is miniatures games (though not the tourney-style ones, never been a fan...), I agree.  If I'm going to collect figures for all the different monsters, they damn well better get used in a game!  lol :D
