Dismounted Yeomanry

2 BMW side cars, one in helmet, one in cap .

Dans les situations critiques, quand on parle avec un calibre bien en pogne, personne ne conteste plus. Y'a des statistiques là-dessus.

Jesus! What happened to that BMW? Did kids nick the wheels and replace them with something off a shopping trolley?

Or is this part of a new circus themed range?

The Yeomanry look nice but the Trumpers look a bit undernourished.

i agree , the BMW is not a great model ...
it's less evident on the Triumph ... ( even if the wheels are a bit undersized )

A bit undersized? Masterly use of British understatement there. Apart from the panniers, it looks pretty much everything is undersized on those models.

It's a pity because, the Triumphs are actually something I have a use for and would have bought. The R75snot so  much, there's a perfectly serviceable Tamiya kit that works well enough with 28mm. Just goes to show that even wizards like the Perry brothers can have an off day (assuming they sculpted the bikes).

they does not sculpt the bikes ... i suspect it's the same guy who has sculpted the undernourished canon de 75 who sculpted the bikes  ;)

verified , bingo, it's the same guy ...

i'll assume the bikes are some french Peugeot P107 bikes caught in Syria ...

Presumably he sculpts whilst standing up to his waist in cold water.  ;)

As someone who has mastered a bike in this scale, albeit one that was a bit more up to date, they are very difficult to size correctly. without the crew figures to hand. Because 28mm figures do not confirm overall to any one scale, you have to use a bit of artistic licence. I reckon an experienced scale modeller made the bike masters, but did not take into account the fact that the figures themselves are all over the shop scale wise, all thats needed is to bulk out a few areas, and you can get a good workable model.
As it stands, the bikes look too small in key areas, shame really as they look like nice little models.
I've got to make some bikes for my SCW collection. so seeing these is a good learn for me.

I think it goes a bit further than that sadly. The bikes aren't in proportion and that really stands out if you know the subject. The relative scale of the bikes various structures is way off.
Perry ww2 figures have been quite regular in their scaling, partly due to a lit of dolly use. They are, however, at the very small end of the spectrum so it pretty good going to produce something that is even under scale for them.

Parts of that btw look sub-1/65th to my eye, which is way out.

They do look badly off scalewise, and there really in no excuse for that.
I would suggest buying some 1/35th versions, and scaling them down, so you can get an idea of how the models look in 3 dimension

When I did this one for Fenris, I had a 1/20th scale model to hand, along with figures from the range it was to go with, scale wise, I went 1/50th to match the taller models (32mm) the bike is a bit tall, but not so much it looks mad, certain bits are a little overscale, but thats to compensate for things like big hands, and to endure that the model can be cast.
Opportunity missed here by the Perries, surprised that they did not see how odd the models look.

Aren't the Perry WW2 minis and vehicles supposed to be a strict 1/56 rather than 28mm, in which case it is especially odd that they differ so much.
My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2024 = 32
(2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)
