Thanks for all the comments chaps, much appreciated! Here's some more iPhone pictures of the six models complete with snow covered bases:

Annoyingly I had to scrape all the snow off post first attempt....... I used the tried and tested format of applying some thinned PVA glue to the area where I wanted the snow, then went about sprinkling away....... to my horror, after an hour 'drying' time I returned and...... the water had evaporated, along with the snow, leaving a patch of bright green nastiness!!!!! I've never had such an experience before, I can only imagine the snow didn't like the PVA a one little bit  lol Anyway, after some research I discovered that hairspray works wonders with powdered snow! So I sprayed the base, sprinkled and hurray no green mess!!

Next on the painting table are these chaps, complete with the Green I don't mind  :D

I hope you like the update and hope to post further pictures soon!

Cheers

Gary

Those look great! Really enjoying your conversions, the green stuff work ties the "newer-look" armor like sallet helms back to the more "primitive" Northern look.  :)

Thanks again for the comments Gents!

I'm going to base them and build a force for either Lion Rampant or Dragon Rampant, not sure which version though..... as GoT is a Medieval World in a Fantasy setting it crosses both.... Feudal systems coupled with Dragons, Wights, Zombies and Priestesses.....

I know from a couple of the opening comments that some of you use Lion Rampant? Any thoughts?

I plan to finish the Pike unit with 12 models, then move on to a 6 man unit of Light Cavalry and then start a small 6 man unit of foot to represent House Condon.

Cheers

I will be using Lion Rampant until such time as I utilize the more fantasy elements, when I'll switch over to Dragon Rampant. I will also use To The Strongest! for larger battles, but that will entail getting quite a bit of stuff together first.  lol

OK, having read through a newly purchased copy of Lion Rampant I have outlined the following as my 24pts Retinue:

Mounted Men at Arms (Led by Lord Medger Cerwyn)
Foot Men at Arms (Led by Cley Cerwyn)
Foot Serjeants (Pike armed unit)
Expert Foot Serjeants (Led by Ser Kyle Condon - I will also include 5 models alongside Kyle that represent his bodyguard from House Condon, this is why I opted for Expert)
Bidowers

I am also thinking about making the Pike unit 'Yeomen' and then using the saved points to upgrade the Bidowers to 'Archer' status?

So that's 30 models in total which is a nice amount to paint  ;)

Cheers!

Hot on the heels of the Retinue composition are some further WIP shots for the first unit of 'Foot Serjeants'

I hope you like the latest 2 models, now only 4 more to go until I move onto Lord Medger and his bodyguard!

Cheers

These are coming along nicely. I love the muted colours, snowy scenery and the furs. This is very evocative of a Northern house. Winter is most definitely coming when you look at these... :D

Thank you Sir! Happy that the look and feel has hit the right spot!

I just ordered the following models from Perry which will now enable me to build all the required models as outlined in the above post:

B 41 English Archer sprue
AO 50 Agincourt French Infantry
WR 40  Mounted Men at Arms

The French Infantry will be used to build Cley Cerwyn's unit plus the unit commanded by Ser Kyle Condon and the Mounted Men at Arms box will be mixed with the Light Cavalry box to build Medgers bodyguard.

Can't wait for them to arrive now  ;)

When I don't have any more Romans or Celtic javelinmen to finish (hopefully friday) i'll be shamelessly ripping off some of your ideas for Northerners. The only unit i've started so far is of Heavy (Lannister-allied) infantry.

I've seen some amazingly useful threads since I signed up here, this is definitely in the top 3!  :)
