Thanks beefcake. I'm very slow, I've had many of these models for many years.

Everything in the thread that isn't scratch built is old crow. The big APC is a claymore heavy APC.

He is trading but it's slow and he doesn't advertise so as to keep his volume of sales to a managable level. Might take weeks to get your product but he does deliver.

current thinking on the tail.

Landing gear and tail fin complete.

Tail is made from three sheets of styrene laminated together and then sanded into a vaguely aerofoil cross section. Its attached with three struts made from paperclips. I may bulk that out with a little styrene to make them look, well, bulkier.





... and on its mobile landing pad.

Thanks. Yeah it needed the tail for aesthetic balance as well as some semblance of engineering sense.

Awesome!  They have a real Cayuse kind of vibe about them. Very believable.

Thought I'd clean the airbrush. And then clean the airbrush. And then for a change, clean the airbrush some more.


And then put some undercoat on the fliers and other models. This is an all over coat of grey primer, followed by Zenithal undercoat - black shot on the underside of the models and a thin white coat shot from the top down. I've never done this before, but it's intended to show through the top coat so that you get a more natural shading of the model colours. I remain to see if this affects my painting.




 
All the models here other than the fliers are from Old Crow Models.

Your grey winter camo is one of my most liked colour schemes ever. In fact, those are the only paintjobs I've rated as high as Dwartist's, and that's saying something since David is my go-to reference for military schemes.
Mind you, I know this time you may go for a simple grey scheme, without camo. Umh... it was rather muted, so it wouldn't be so different.

Whatever you decide, I am so looking forward to seeing you painting again!

I'm going to try and recreate the colour scheme I did 6 years ago. If I can figure out the paint recipe.

I don't think I'm anywhere near dwartist's league, but I do like to put in more effort than a typical wargames model. Especially seeing as these models will spend 99.9% of their time in a display case.
