What a fantastic beast! Never seen that before.
Amblypygids, More easily remembered as (as mentioned) cave spiders, tailless whipscorpions, and in spanish-speaking countries, cankles. (Which I would prefer if it wasn't already terrible slang for swollen ankles) Though they're not spiders (order Aranaea) or scorpions (order Scorpiones) but their own separate order, Amblypygi, within Arachnida. They're called
tailless whipscorpions because their whips are their first pair of
extremely long legs, adapted into feelers, as opposed to the whipscorpions of
order Thelyphonida, which have their 'whips' at the end of their abdomens.

I used to have a couple of small ones, back when I kept things with too many legs. They sit still most of the time but move like
lightning. You can barely see it, almost like teleportation.
Khurasan used them as the model for their
'Arachnian' aliens, though while I don't blame them for leaving off the spindly parts, I think there's still room for a few different gaming-miniatures interpretations...
