PA Conversions from Perry plastic WotR (UD 28/9 with terrain)
« on: September 19, 2016, 01:42:26 PM »
Have been mulling a 'Summer in Europe' post apocalyptic game using my Belgium 1914 terrain. Tentatively entitled 'After It Happened' it's very much like Revolution with aspects of The Postman and The Road, set about 10 years after an event that has left the world without electrical power, limited manufacturing capability, limited firearms, stateless civilians and localised militias.

Research threw up the following LAF threads:

RedZeds comments on The Tower King and the Perry WotR plastics got me thinking and so with a few hours spare this afternoon (I should be painting but I can't  :'() I've set myself the challenge of making 6 survivors.....

So a quick look plastic crack box

..... came up with the parts for 6 minis, using mostly Perry WotR with other Perry, Frostgrave and Warlord bits. These are just the starting points to which I'll no doubt add later.

Edit: have since added Perry WW2 into the mix

The idea is to use only plastics and GW liquid green stuff.

The target is:

Male with shotgun
Male with sword and black powder pistol
Male with axe and shield
Female with black powder blunderbus
Female with bow and sword
Female with spear and sword

Very nice. These seem well suited for Across the Dead Earth!  8)

Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers. P. Cushing

Thanks. I haven't played Across The Dead Earth but I read the preamble etc and like the back story. I'll be using them with my own rules which are multi-period so include broad categories for variously advanced/sophisticated weapons and equipment.

I ended up not having to use any Liquid Greenstuuff, as I just melted sprue shavings into gaps etc (a Captain Blood trick).  The bodies are all Perry WotR (though I think the archer in the dress is a Euro Merc), just carved to slim down and/or cut and shut to reduce height. The female heads are from the Perry WW2 sets as they are distinctively smaller, though since the above photos I've shaved them a bit to heighten cheek bones etc. The pony and pig tails are actually the tassles cut from the fez worn by Zouaves.

Just slapping some paint on as I quite fancy a quick game with them.

Plastic crack getting to you  ;)

They look great, the only thing that 'bothers' me is the scabbard holder on the bow armed figure. Doesn't quite seem to fit  :?

It's an ECW sword hung at an odd 'jaunty' angle. Looks better painted, especially as she's wearing a pink dress (and I've removed the hat: now bareheaded).

Thanks chaps

A fun little side project that I'll hopefully game on a 2x2 this weekend  :D

Minis now painted:

And some cars that have been left abandoned for years:

EDIT: I replaced the photos after doing a bit more with the faces and selectively adding some grime.

Why would I mind?  :D They're from EBay  ;)

From left to right as viewed:

Peugeot 107 by Majorette Ref. 205F
Advertised Scale 1/55

Citroen C2 by Majorette Ref. 254G
Advertised Scale 1/57
(Originally in rally format)

Honda S2000 by Realtoy
Advertised Scale 1/56

They're all sitting lower as I flattened the tyres (sanded them back to the rims), which I guess typically removed about 3mm.

You only mentioned this the other day, and not only have you started already, but you have six figures pretty much finished already!
Seriously impressive.
You mad plastic crack addicted lunatic.
 :D

They look good, mate.
Very innovative use of various plastic components from across the 'ages'.

Thanks Paul.

It was just an opportunistic time filler. House bound and temporarily unable to work on main projects...... What to do with myself? Start a new one!!!!
