Finished and primed - just needs painting now, so these are the last photos.

The base is now sorted, have added the rods.

The proportions for the docking clamps work well - shown here with an Immobiliser Cruiser, but they would work equally well with a Star Destroyer.

The moment of truth....the lighting test. The layer of undercoat has stopped the light leakage (it took 3 cans of primer). I then added some "lights" by using a pin to break the surface of the foamboard, to let through the light from the hangar bays.

Thank you everyone for your encouragement, it's been fun to build.

I'm really enjoying watching all the other "Build Somethings" as they come to fruition.

I'd like to say a big thank you to Jim for running BSC 2017 - it's great to see so many inspiring projects in one place, at one time....

....oh, and finally.....

NO BOTHANS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS SPACE STATION.

Now onto the paint job.......

Fantastic!

I accidentally flicked between this page and page 1 and thought you had primed your model. It took me a few seconds to realise I wasn't looking at yours, that I was looking at the official one! Kudos to your accuracy! :o

My last statement now definitely stands! Amazing! :o

That's incredible Matt. I looked at the undercoated model and had to double check it wasn't a movie still. The pin prick lights are very effective.  This is amazing.

Brilliant work. Undercoat ties it all in, but those lights are something else.

By special request, from various posters on pg12, here is a photo of Darth Vader reviewing storm troopers in 1/2256 scale - still a wip.

Close-up pictures reveal that discipline at the shield gate leaves a lot to be desired.....

News of Vader's impending inspection should get the wind up that slovenly lot, though.

Another brilliant entry Matt.  8) :-*

Excellent build thread of what must be the largest entry in any BSC so far.  It really does look like a proper cinematic model build, better than all this modern CGI. (Even though I have never seen Rogue One) ::)

Immense barely covers it - this thing is insanely impressive. And the pinpricks of light has been an excellent addition, they add a lot to the model.

Following this has been a real treat, no mistake!
