British infantry move up supported by a Scimitar.

The squad Sergeant directs his fire team.

While the corporal sets up his support in cover.

You have lots of great figures.
There are so many different sub periods to go with moderns.
I find I jump from one thing to another.
Don't really have enough painted to play a decent sized game.

Thanks.

I find the same thing, Prelude to Woodbury is possibly the only set of figures fully painted, all six of them ^___^.

The work Wyrmalla has been showing on his thread has inspired me to start on the kit I bought a while back.

It is not as good a kit as the Imprint/Empress ones.

In the best Blue Peter Tradition - here is one I prepared earlier:

Using the Empress Zu-23-2 supplied with the technical.

Hah, the Empress one comes with seat backs - Spectre's doesn't. :)

The gun's a bit small on that 1/48th chassis though. There is a 1/48th one out there, but I guess you use what you have.

If I was doing an airborne force I'd have one, then cover it in stowage and a few Red Star tank riders.

Thanks.

@Wymalla: not quite sure what I am doing with it, it could be for Twilight 2000 to provide some fire support for some UnderFire Russians or it could be for some militia for my imagi-nation.

That affects the stowage options.

I have seen some photographs of them in full bag lady mode - shopping trolley armour stuffed with bags of stuff.

Not quite sure if that would work for both periods.

Oh, and does anyone know when the blue chemical drums became common?

I was wondering about using them for storage.

I could find a background on plastic drums, but nothing on when they came into use - other than post 1960.

https://www.bluebarrelsystems.com/blog/history-blue-plastic-barrel/

There's some international standard and naming conventions mentioned in that article, so I guess if you search those there might be some legislation which'll crop up. I'd guess 1970s onward would cover the initial lot, then maybe a bit later for things to become formal (no idea though).
