Thanks Carlos, but actually since posting that question, I did subsequently go with the Blitzkrieg Matilda - which was good, because it turned out to be a very nice moulding indeed  :)

Cool, I've been contemplating their1/48 version as a third Matilda. I fancy making a CS version.

UVS WW2 WIP: "this end towards insurance claimant" 11/07/17

A little surprise for Operation Sea Lion games, Flame Fougasse markers.

They were a product of the Petroleum Warfare Department and functioned as a one shot flame thrower.

These are markers, so do not represent the actual appearance.

A single Allied Fuel drum from Rubicon was assembled and then cut diagonally. The two halves were then glued to a Renedra 30mm base.

Numbers from the Warlord Games British tank number sheet were added to the top segment and an identification number taken from their M4 sheet was added to the middle segment.

Sublime work ....and you have another fan of your excellent stowage! For me it's the extra's that give the models a life of their own, make them seem more real?
Now listen to me you benighted muckers. We're going to teach you soldiering. The world's noblest profession. When we're done with you, you'll be able to slaughter your enemies like civilized men.

So I bought a Rubicon Jeep at Colours in September.

I have started work on it.

A Perry Miniatures Eighth Army figure for scale and another as a third crewman.

Stowage is from the Rubicon Allied Stowage set. Additional stowage to be added once I have sorted out the crew figure.

The additional tanks are possibly not right for North Africa. You learn as you build.

The good thing about LRDG is there's a lot of leeway ... you can always just say, "It's a local modification," ... cos most of it was.

Looks like another great little kit UVS. I just wish the detail on the Rubicon crew figures was a whisker sharper. They’re all a bit ‘soft’. Hopefully this is something they’ll improve with practice... i just find it a bit odd that they manage to get incredibly fine detail very crisply moulded on vehicle parts, but their human figures are always very slightly amorphous looking...

Looking forward to the CMP 15cwt truck hopefully very soon...

I was hoping for an improvement on the Studebaker driver. They do remind me a bit of the PSC 28mm Soviets. It is still early days for their figure sculpting. Sculpting soft stuff is very different to hard structures.

I am looking forward to the CMP, I will use few of them for the LRDG (not completely accurate, the 30cwt Chevrolet being the most popular vehicle).

Glacial progress on the jeep.

Two jerry cans have been added to the bonnet.

One of the straps has sprung loose.

Another distraction.

Some more work on the "what if" for Operation Sea Lion, a Panzer IB with 20mm autocannon.

Empress Spanish Civil War Panzer IB with Rubicon jerry cans, scratch built whatever it is that comes out of the glacis, aerial and holder and a tow cable.

With some Blitzkrieg infantry.
