In October 2015 I began the building and painting of my 28mm Gangsters “& Stuff” collection.  When I began collecting the pieces for this about a decade ago it was going to be a gangster collection, but over time other things began to catch my eye and the collection expanded to include Batman and a catch-all group I call the Gordon Institute for Archeology and Paranormal Study, and that group allowed me to include the Institute’s version of the Ghostbusters.  The gallery is huge with more than a hundred pictures, a long write-up, four 5 ft. x 7 ft. table layouts, a city of approximately 35 buildings and more than 50 vehicles, a waterfront that includes a dock that is 17 inches wide and 5 feet long holding three warehouses, a crane and a fish cannery, a freighter, two tugs, two fishing boats and three speedboats, a sewer, Wayne Manor and the Batcave, plus the Gordon Institute campus.  The collection took just over a year to paint and construct, and from set-up through photographing to clean up the pictures, it took just over 25 hours to do over three days… a long weekend.  I’ve attached a few sample pictures here.  I hope you will take a look at the entire gallery when you have some time.  I think you will have some fun.  You can find it at www.warin15mm.com/28mm-Gangsters---Stuff.html.

You really dont do things by halves, do you?

That is a REALLY impressive set-up you have built there.
So full of detail.

Stunning! So many small beautiful details I'm going to have to go through the gallery over and over again. I love the Bat Cave and the Speakeasy. The detective diving for cover in particular, absolute magic.

My initial comment of "outstanding  o_o o_o" was made prior to visiting your blog. Now I have - WOW, I'm speechless - your combination of ideas, connections and execution is simply stunning. Truly inspirational.

Thanks so much for all the wonderful comments.  I had a great time with this project... lots and lots of crazy stuff.  I know the gallery is huge, but I hope that some of you will find the time to travel through it; I think you will find it a fun ride with a few unexpected smiles as your reward.  Dave, I hope you got to see the Pulp Alley shoeshine stand... I love it.  Thanks again to all who took the time to write.  Much appreciated.  Richard
