Frost grave has inspired a bit of painting from me
« on: 12 April 2017, 07:04:09 PM »
All of these are painted since the start of the Frostgrave Folio Nickstarter

Regular soldiers and wardogs.

Creatures and treasure

Necro-romancer and minions

I will try to get some more shots of the warbands as they are now and some in game shots soon.

That's a lot of minis in a short time. I own almost all of those same ones but most are unpainted and yours look better anyhow. Very nice.

Inspiring! I just got a few of the same Bones minis that are in your "creatures" section. These are my first Bones figures. Any tips on painting them? It seems so strange to not spray prime a mini.

The non Frostgrave cultists are older Wyrd Mini's Crueligans (now OoP), the barely dressed necro is from Reaper, and the lady in green is Inge from Heresy Miniatures (Go buy stuff from him, he's a good bloke.) The demons are Reaper Bones but I don't recall the name.

I spray prime all my Bones stuff with Vallejo Surface Primer from an airbrush, it sticks fine. If you are used to aerosol cans you can start painting direct on it with out that primer step, just don't thin your paints as much. Bones can be hydrophobic.

I might have gone in hard on the purchasing for FG. I haven't done much gaming since moving to Hawaii, finding a place where I didn't need to do 40k to get a game in boosted m production. I haven't even showed off any scenery I have done for the game.

I've seen them before but can't find them now... where do you get the "Angels" figures from Doctor Who?

Got it in one!

Thank you both. The yellow is a variety of sources but on the FG cultists, it was mostly airbrushed on with a wash then highlights.
