Very nice words, thank you! :) That's what keeps me motivated, as soon as i complete a few other commissions in the line! :)

Do you have suggestions for the companies? I'll be likely selling the customization parts (such as the one-sided walls and beams) to Fenris; however, as said above the whole ruins probably would work better for some mainstream company. Do you think North Star would appreciate those? Maybe Gripping Beast with his more historical lines?

Considering the size of the casts, maybe someone to organize a small KS with, to serialize the production a bit.

Any hint is appreciated! :)

To be honest I think it would be worth talking to the people that North Star and Gripping Beast use.  Renedra seem to have stepped up the quality of their plastic models of late and if that's a medium you would like to work with; then it would most definitly be worth talking to them and doing your own kickstarter.

Your work is amazing and should be produced at the best quality possible. If you are unsure or don't want the hassle on top of your commission work then contact North Star, Gripping Beast, Warlord at a push, maybe even shield wolf since they have just produced some fantastic plastic miniatures.

Thank you Angry!

Well, producing a plastic set is something VERY complicated, and not going under with the money is unlikely, unless you're an experienced businessman. I'm not, and not planning to be anytime soon.
I'd be more than happy with someone who is willing to take the chances with this though, of course as well as the majority of the profits. It's really not about the money here (although it's a good plus :) ), rather about seing my sculpts used and painted by people around!

I think i'll wait to have at least the full basic set done (including ladders, half-height walls and another 1-2 full sections, i think) before starting to contact people around... meanwhile, i'm gonna paint the first pieces i've done soon enough. :)

Cheers, and thanks again!

Jack

While mumbling about what to do with the finished set, i've assembled a few more parts of the ones i've done already.

Here the holes for the wooden crosbars are being used, although only partially.

Now the half-heigth ruined walls MUST BE DONE, otherwise the ruin will have a flat top! :S

Cheers

This half-ruined tower is fascinating! :o

And it could happen. In his memoirs about the French Wars of Religion (late 16th C.) Sully mentions that, besieging the town of Dreux, his men made a mine (they dig a hole and put black powder in it) under the wall of a large tower, and put fire to it. The mine exploded; for a moment nothing happened... then a whole part of the wall fell down, with parts of the floors and some people inside; many people stayed crowded on the remaining parts of the floors. The soldiers began to shoot at them; then seing that they were civilians Sully told his men to stop firing (at least that's what he wrote afterwards).

(yes that's history, but in other universes it could happen by magic or whatever...)

Thank you! Yeah, i think there are several events that could cause a partial collapse of a tower: i've been in Georgia this month, and in the Svaneti region there's plenty of towers (i mean, even too many), a good number of them collapsed! ^_^

The idea behind this modular set is to allow several setups with a relatively realistic look. there's already plenty of high-fantasy ruins on the market, but some thicker and solid pieces should be of some uses both for gritty fantasy gamers and for historical ones!

Thank you Din! :)

Some major updates here: the "upper parts" are done, they are tall enough to provide cover and to be used as standalone walls, while some smaller elements give additional roughness to the top edges of the ruins!

Here some test pics taken with my smartphone. Apologies for the crappy resolution, but i hope it gives an idea.

Updates as soon as i put the first casts in position! :) And finally i'll be able to paint the pieces!

Cheers

A quick shot before filling the gaps! Proper pics will follow soon, possibly in a day or two! I've got some 3D commissions to finish first!

Cheers,
