NEF looks superb, not so sure about the platform but am certain that you will evolve it into yet another superb piece, just not seeing yet myself.

The more I see your Chinese Japanese the more I feel you went the best route too.

Thanks chaps  :)

The railings are from 0.8mm brass tube cut to size and dress making pins used to keep the chain in place (put through the links, and yes, I did count each set  ::) :) )

The platform will make more sense when the main walls and hull are done  :)

cheers

Still watching and drooling, Jim! ;D

Love the idea with the railings, consider it pinched!

I think I have a jist of where you are going with the platform, but dont want to mention my thoughts in fear of looking a complete spanner. ::)

Keep up the posts, they are very inspirational!

Jim have you ever thought about using Academy Solar Powered Turtle ship (ok its a Korean design but the Japanese have messed about in that country for years).
I have about 3 (sorry no pics as a bit of a plank when it becomes that technical) I plan on using them as a sort of Far East VSF pirate (Wako) group maybe as flying or surface ships.
As for the Solar powered bit I never got it to work on the 1st ship (the wires must of snaped as I was putting it together) I would of been impressive to have the tean oars able to go around, especally in flight.
I have also picked up a few cheap Chinesse "kick-kancks" from a stall in the Metrocente -wind chimes with a few chinise coins/bells/dragons/small pagoda/swords along with a few lucky fat Buddha's (to be painted as stone or bronze statues) and Chinese Dragons.
gan canny kidder!

Thanks again for the replies chaps  :)

@ Chantyam - Rather interesting idea  :D Wako sound like a plan but I've got my Chinese to do first, one thing at a time dear boy, one thing at a time  ;)

I've made a little progress on the defense platform so hopefully you should be able to see better what I have had planned all along...

The lower hull is still to be done and I have to decide on funnels and props, what sort and where etc. There is still a fair amount of detail to finish off but because it's different detail to normal neffs I don't mind doing it so much  :)

After this and the armoured neff are done I'll be moving on to something else to do with Mars... :o  ;)

cheers

James

The platform's shaping up nicely.  :)

That's not good  :( silly boy  ;D Are you going for the same thing?

Colin, probably just heavy Gatling guns for the time being although there is the option to swap them as the turrets are modular  :D (and soon to be for sale...)

Very nice!

The turrets are first rate as are the railings. Add in some nice decks and a sweet hatch and I think you are going to hit this one for 6!
