What size are the figures?  A comparison picture to other figures would be helpful please.

Do like what I have seen.

Make sure you let us know when the KS launches.

Are the figures going to be plastic? One or two of them look slightly that way...

The figures will all be 28mm single piece cast lead free pewter. They are similar in size to heroic scale models and match nicely with those. The exception to single cast figures being certain legendary commanders. Some may be multi-part metal kits so that they can have some more dynamic poses.

I'll try and take some comparison shots tomorrow. I've got quite a few models I can compare them to.

Keep the questions coming! :)

Yeah that's me pretty much sold. Will just depend on shipping really.

Either way I'll pick up the rules at some point.

I'll definitely be in - my only qualm is the bases included in the sculpt.  But, that's what snips are for!  Scale looks right and I'm glad to see metals (I ditched the idea of a Black Scorpion crew when they went to resin).

He is a handsome looking and very well proportioned figure. If the rest are as good as that, I shall be getting some!
Judging by his height alongside a Black Scorpion figure, these'll be quite a lot taller than the ubiquitous (and rather brilliant) Foundry Cutthroats range by Will Hannah. Or the also popular and more recent Crusader pirates?

Did you say (or are you able to say) who the sculptor is?

Thanks.

I have spent a Kings ransom lately on KS but this has 2 of my favourite things in it..namely pirates and ships so looks like I'll be busking some more to raise the readies. It really does look classy and there's obviously been great effort put in already..I sincerely hope it goes swimmingly for the creators
Good moaning

Thank you all for the kind words :)

(Took down the artists names at their request, sorry! :(). The models are all based on 20mm round bases, so if you want them on larger bases they will go right on pretty easily. If you are using them with our ruleset however, the smaller base goes a very long way in fitting more models aboard a ship. Which becomes important as you will usually have at least 25 models aboard a sloop or brigantine if you go with a more elite force in a medium sized game.

Back to size, they do not scale up as well with many older ranges like Foundry and Old Glory. I think they are close enough that they would work on opposing sides or maybe even in different units as long as they weren't on a ship.

Hey everyone, thought I'd stop by this thread and give a quick update. We have announced our Kickstarter date! The Kickstarter will begin on April 19.

We have also shown a final version of our brigantine model with its two rigg in options here's a picture, enjoy :)

Superb looking ships, shame the figures are so big, might not work with current collections...
