I’ve assembled figures using quite a few of the Steel Fist dollies now, and I have to say I think they are great, and have met my expectations. Care is needed when selecting arms, especially the paired ones. These invariably need small amounts of filler (I use ProCreate) … but then again so do the Perry plastics when combined with paired arms.

Have you had a go at a limber? Which one is yours? (I wonder if I have seen it?) I hope to make some proper progress with it over the next week or so. I have a bunch of crossbow men to finish assembling, then I can begin to get paint on them.

I have decided to start with foreign troops while I work out which retinues to represent, although I have a mounted figure for John Clifford underway, to be joined by The Flower of Craven.

I considered making one like yours, and a limber drawn by two horses, but just now I am thinking of making a wheeled limber drawn by one horse. It’s an early stage in my thinking, but I’ll work out more detail over the next week or so.

On the subject of headdress, I think the word you're looking for is mazocchio.
