NOT 40K kitbash (first try with new photo host)
« on: 30 December 2017, 11:55:34 PM »
A simple kitbash of a 1/35 Panzer 1F tank and a GW Leman Russ turret... not yet painted, any suggestions? The original turret is going to get used on a GW Chimera , if I can pick one up cheap.

Kit with original turret. I left a couple of fiddly bits off, as it's now a gaming model

Both turrets side by side

Oh yeah!

Comments welcome

Is that the Hobbyboss Panzer I? It looks way better than the original LR.

I cannot now remember, having thrown the box away. It was a plastic 1/35 kit I ordered from my local model shop, about 5 years ago now. I do remember that the separate plastic track links were a real pain.

it looks the part. In fact I would have thought it was a forge world variant on first glance

Thanks Scurv!

Ok, Hobbyboss for sure, lol. Hate their track links.

And if you want to do Traitor Guard, you can use it as a AT70 Reaver Battle Tank ;)

Nice conversion. Removing the track guards alters the shape well.

That's the way the tank looks. No removing done I think.

Had to look it up myself but you are right, that break in the track guard is standard on the 1F and does indeed make it look very 40K ish, the turret fits in there nicely as well, really brings it all together as a MBT.

von der Tann is quite right. I didn't change anything on the hull. The gap in the track guards is for the circular side escape hatches. If the tank is a bit unfamiliar it is because in real life only 30 were made. They were an infantry tank version of the panzer I with very thick 80mm armour

Very nicely done and really looks the part. The turret goes extremely well with that hull.

It's not big, or clever, but let's do it anyway
