Off World Colony Copy
« on: 28 May 2009, 10:26:44 AM »
A mate and I are in the process of copying our guru and true hero ( lol) Matakishis space colony buildings:

Plan is to make enough to cover a 4'x4' table fairly decently. Alien-style outer wall and perhaps some pipe (like Pauls) will also be added.

We're going for a darker more gritty look than Paul though. The silver looks nice, but these buildings should feature in more than just one setting - Post Apocalypse being one of them - so grey, which dirt is more likely.

This is also one of the reason that all the window shuts are down. The aliens have already invaded and our heroes come to scout the settlement (yes yes- total Aliens - Alien II).

We have a large collection  of starship troopers miniatures in which these may also be handy.

Very nice
I am glad you said you are going to paint them. A bit sore on the eyes otherwise lol

I like the shutters, clever use of the corrugated gard. :)

We use supermarket commercial cardboard.

Mind you that I cannot take credit for the design! It's all Teahouse.  ;)

Where do you find that thick carboard here in Denmark? I've been looking and can't seem to find any here in Vejle. But anyway, good work, I'm liking the look, and Matakishi's stuff is a great inspiration.

It's not available for sale in stores. It's from old commercial campaign boards from a store called Fakta..

When do we meet up?

I thought it looked like a Fakta slogan - and those buildings look like they only take 5 minutes to build ;)
Where in Denmark are you? I'm frequently over in Esbjerg and up in nordjylland too, so if you're anywhere there then no problem, and the summer is coming with plenty of free time for me so it should be possible to meet up.

You're not the only one!  I copied Matakishi's buildings for my Sci-fi terrain, too.

We will not let you down master...

Seriously I really love your page. It's a ton of fun just browsing around all the weird avenues you've been walking. Imagine in ten years time!

I'm where the action is. I meet up with a group of dissident gamers every 3-4 months and have a "blast".
Next time is probably going to be in Esbjerg, start of July.

Is it your stuff at the bottom of Pauls page? If so - I just loooove that jetplane you've got there. really great idea. I'll copy that too ;)

Any chance I can join? I'd love to meet some other dissendent gamers?

No, that's not me...but it is nice, isn't it?   Looks like a modified Su-27 Flanker model.
