My FLGS always gets a few bucks from me for paint. They have a nice selection of Reaper (primarily fantasy), GW, WizKids, Warlord Games (Bolt Action Primarily), and a rather nice selection of RPGs that aren't D&D.  They are also kind enough to put in special orders for me from time to time. Still, the majority of gameplay in the store is GW 40k and Magic the Gathering. Neither interests me.

Most of my ordering of odd stuff comes from a game store in Michigan. They have put in a lot of special orders from Europe for me. Gives them a little cash and I don't have to fuss too much with shipping and such. They put in larger orders from partner stores overseas and catch some shipping breaks that I wouldn't see. Cost is about the same for me either way, but at least I contribute to a local-ish store this way.

It is good for folks to support their FLGS if they have one.

My latest weekly update of finished items for our various projects.

Looks nice.  The chain repair on the ogre looks good to me.  The links look about right for something out of Sauron's armies - salvaged from a support chain for that uber-ram they used on Minas Tirith, or for some suitably ridiculously OTT drawbridge in Mordor itself or something.  Heck, maybe just something used to restrain uncommonly unruly trolls or ogres, right?

Yeah, I throw all the supply purchases at them that I can.  Sadly they don't carry as much as I'd like (no decent spray paints at all, just overpriced GW crap, no Plastruct material or plastic glue, no Testors dullcoat) but at least they've got a reasonable Vallejo range and Zap-a-gap on top of a (spotty) selection of GW paints.

More useful additions, for sure! I like the dirty look of the ogre.

The sculpt, and my paintwork, is growing on me. Still irked about that wrist though.

Maybe a day late and a dollar short, but you could have done both wrists with the chain to balance him out.

Never too late for feedback.

I could still do that, I have plenty of chain and greenstuff. In fact I did think the model looked a bit lopsided. I would have preferred it on the other wrist to balance out the club aesthetically but t is not as if I got to choose. As it was I decided to just call it good enough since I was not in love with the chain anyway.

But yeah, maybe I need to go back and do the other wrist as well.

The chain is a really nice fix. I agree it would look a little more symmetric with chain on the other wrist, too. But I like it, and the colors on the model.

Yeah, I like what you were going for with those chair backs, but the color does blend in too much with the wood color to really distinguish it, at least in the photo.

Great work and I like the scenic pieces. Where did you get the fallen tree trunks please?

I may go back and redo those chair backs in a dark green.

The fallen trees are from Monster Fight Club.

Well, it doesn't look terrible as it is. I think a second chain would probably look good, but there is little reason to fix something until it is broken. I have lots of figures that end up "good enough" because I'm pretty sure the next thing I do to them will take a so-so situation straight into "set fire and start over" territory. For something like an enemy, I don't bother. If it was my main character I might put more effort and fuss into it, but I also refuse to paint eyeballs or cloth fold lines so my tolerance for putting a lot of time into painting is low. lol

I see it has been a while since your last post. Hope all is well. Hard to know for sure these days if someone got busy at work or got hospitalized :/

Looks like you have been blogging, so all is presumably well! lol
