Any possibility of some shots of the new figures next to some Knuckleduster, Foundry and Artisan Old West ranges to see how they stack up size wise?

That would be really useful. Knuckleduster are my go to figures for the OW, these will have to go some to compete with the quality of those. I'd love to see a comparison picture. :)

Ok, that's helpful.  Thanks.

They look to be on the large size then, 30mm to the shoulder and just short of 40mm to the top of the hat? more Black Scorpion size than Knuckleduster or Foundry.

Too 'tall in the saddle' for fitting in with the figures & scenery I have.

Yeah, that's a real shame, they are huge, way too tall to fit my existing collection as well.  :(

@Paul,  Was it a conscious choice to go for a bigger scale than those used by established ranges?

I guess if you're planning a comprehensive range in the long run it won't matter, but in the short term people with existing collections may be less inclined to purchase incompatible figures?

Surely Hollywood means larger than life than life doesn’t it?

They do look rather good.

They look like they could work with the old HLBS 1/48/36mm/40mm figures - but waay too big to match any of my stuff :(

Shame nobody makes "larger than life" terrain to go with them then. ::)

To answer your questions second first;

Yes it will be a comprehensive range so pretty much stand alone. Yes Malmute there is a lot of terrain that fits so that's not an issue  ;)

Yes it was a conscious decision to sculpt this big but not in a detrimental way to other ranges but simply because the sculptor we chose to do this range sculpts this size. For example he also sculpts our moderns range. He also sculpts our ECW range and that seems to sit in the middle of the various ECW ranges when it comes to size.
Not sure what you mean by established ranges as you do not list them and Empress design ranges to work within the realms of their ranges. I would imagine most others do as well. I cannot imagine that the Perry twins start a new range by looking at the competition and trying to match them. Its not how companies seem to work. We certainly do not.

Having said that there was one range that I did take into account and that was Galloping Major's developing Apache Wars range. Lance plans to develop his Apache Wars range in the near future and due to our long term friendship I did not wish to undermine his plans so we will not be moving into his areas but the figures will compliment each other size wise.

For example see below.

So I am sorry that some of you are disappointed that our new figures will not work for your existing collections but if we had made them smaller we would have upset others for the same but different reason.

I can/would make terrain to go with them, but it means not using them with my:-
Dixon, Foundry, Hinchcliffe, Gringo40, etc etc.
Nor would it fit in with the collections of the lads I play with.
Big shame.
