What's your 2020 hobby count?
« on: 30 December 2020, 10:52:50 AM »
Now that 2020 mercifully over I thought it would be nice to look back and see what good we were able to get out of it. This was the first year I kept a detailed track of miniatures painted and games played. It has given me a very rewarding feeling to see how much I was able to get done, even if I add as much or more to the lead pile. I know i haven't near as much as lots of view and have played far fewer games then I wish. The point is to see what you have done so feel free to share your statistics, either exact or estimated.

Miniatures Painted:
28mm/147
20mm/26
15mm/36
Buildings/large terrain Painted: 30
Scatter/small terrain painted: 32
Vehicles/Mecha: 1
Games played: 17
Conventions: 1

I managed 332 figures and vehicles/robots so far, of which 8 where 6mm Battlemechs, 5 1/72ish kits, and the rest 28mm stuff (both minis and vehicles) for the Mexican revolution, Lost Worlds, Flash Gordon, US WW2, Shaft vs. Robohitler ft. Lizardnazis, a bit of Darkest Africa and finally Aliens/Kryomek.

On top of that, various terrain pieces and a Lost World game board (40x40) for a convention in January 2020 (close call, that one, but I had it lined up for other meetings later in the year which all got nixed, but better safe than sorry)

I also had a bunch (30 or so) of pirates lined up, but got becalmed on that one after assembly and priming.

I'll see if I can split it up further, but I'll have to check my WhatsApp history for that.

I managed 679 things for the table top. Mix of figures and scales, loose and based scatter terrain and completed pieces.

Quite a few were things from previous years that never got finished back then.

Hoping to get nearer 1000 next year but we'll see  lol

I have more detailed notes with scale and project identification, but I have finished 165 miniatures this year so far.  There might be one or two more before tomorrow midnight.  They were mostly 25/28mm and 1/72 scale, but included a bunch of buildings.

Assuming that I don’t get a solo game in between now and tomorrow night, I had 24 miniatures games this year, which is the slowest year in many.  My target is always 52...

Somewhere in the 300 28mm figures range, as well as a decent amount of terrain. Pretty good I would say though I have left a few half-finished projects that really could have been wrapped up by now.

I can't remember completing a single model this year.
Ravaged by work, work, and more work.
But at least I managed to work on four railway lines (completing not a single one of these of course, true to form....)  ;D

My goal was to paint all of the models I currently owned at the beginning of 2020, so that I could start new projects in 2021 with 100% of my existing collection painted...

that didn't quite pan out...but I got close.

I painted about 10 Blitz Bowl teams and a bunch of NPCs and bits for the game, so about ~70-80 models.

The only thing I didn't get to was two Blitz Bowl teams and two Blood Bowl teams, so about ~40 models. I also picked up three extra Blitz Bowl teams last month on a whim, which shoots the number up to about 58 unpainted models going into 2021. Unless face to face BB tournaments happen anytime in 2021, I'm going to leave this collection as is and move onto to other projects in the new year:

* 20mm Zona Alfa/Gaslands setting (table, terrain, and minis)
* 28mm Oathmark/Warlords of Erewhon/Rangers of Shadow Deep setting (table, terrain, and minis)

 :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o Those numbers!

I only managed 1 unit of Provincials and 1 unit of Rangers for Muskets and Tomahawks and a Bloodbowl team (and some loose, colour test, figures for M&T); a total of 41 28mm miniatures.
Not much but on the other hand just 2 projects with finished units/teams instead of many projects with just loose miniatures  :D

DJ

edit: almost forgot; also a lot of scenery for a M&T table.
