Tlingit ambush the Russians
« on: 19 May 2021, 07:27:48 PM »
After a seven month hiatus back to wargaming face to face
Over to James' house for a Muskets and Tomahawks game using his Tlingit to ambush a peaceful Russian camp

The warriors paddle silently to shore

Then sneak up on the slumbering bears Russians

The camp is attacked

Fierce fighting continues

Cheers Tom! Nice to be able to game in person for the first time in ages.

I’ve realised that this was the first outing for the Tlingit, so they did well to win!

Excellent. I always praise those who break from the usual everyday wargaming eras and
do something more original.

An incredibly beautiful and evocative game.
Since I play alot of M&T,  I was wondering how you handled the elements of surprise,  the sleeping sentries and other Russians.
Did you simply "wake them up" on a particular turn?  Or did you roll dice for it?

thanks.

Beautiful figures AND table, and yes, nice to see non-traditional forces too.

I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

Blimey it's over a year ago, so I really don't remember!
I'm sure James will know the details. I *think* all the scenario rules were in the article James wrote for WI at the time.

TWD-
I didn't know it was in WI.  Do you know which issue?

Thanks!

Impressed as all get out by the Tlingit stuff.  Offbeat, interesting and just plain cool.
Perhaps Jame's painting has something to do with it.

I agree - always cool to see the more off the beaten path periods! I ended up pledging to buy some Pacific Northwest figures from Paymaster Games' Kickstarter. First kickstarter I've ever backed, believe it or not...

Great looking game - I will check out the blog entry and MW issue.
