Great thread. Love the town and battle.
Thanks! I have the terrain set up for 2nd platoon's fight. It's a bit more rural, but still at the River DoHali (where the National Road crosses it). The Ranger Platoon will be the same (spiffed with positive traits), but the Gambolan force will be a bit different (with the regulars de-spiffed with negative traits). I'll have the scenario info posted here one of these days...
Let us know the name of the manufacturer please so I can see if I can track one down locally.
They are by Denver Diecast (see the pic below of one in its box), and it appears they are manufactured for Menards (again, a big box home improvement store around these parts). You can get them on eBay, but the shipping might put you off ($10-15 for the vehicle, and $20-25 for shipping...

)...I paid $5 for each of these...
Anyway, below are some pics of these latest vehicles I found at the afore-mentioned Menards (Angola, Indiana). The first four pics are of what appears to me to be a 1980s Chevy Van. Based on the dimensions of a short-wheelbase version of said van, it scales out right at 1/48. Both the front doors can open, as can the rear doors. The sliding side door, however, can not open.
The last 4 pics are the Dodge Power Wagons (1947 models, according to the box). One is in US Army markings, and the other in US Forest Service markings. They measure out to (and are packaged as) 1/48 as well. I know the Power Wagon wasn't used as a tactical vehicle by the US military, but the Army has a habit of pressing civilian vehicles into service, so it may appear in some Vietnam War games in the future.
The cab and bed do come off, with loosening 3 small Phillips-head screws from the bottom of the vehicle. Either can be re-attached with 2 of the screws, separate from the other. The spare tire is attached to the bed, while the fenders, running board, and gas can are molded to the frame.
I've included some civilians (both Spectre and Empress) in a couple shots to show scale compatibility...looks good to me ...
