Sounds like a blast! Was it a roll or did you have planned that the HVT was the wrong guy? The Gambolans reacted very quickly, and things looked like they'd go Black Hawk Downhill quickly...!

Looks great....they guys are lucky to have you running scenarios for them!

Thanks, Mike!  The HVT being the wrong guy was a random event roll done when a Joker was played.  The dog barking was one of those, as well.  You can see the chart on the scenario sheets, on Page 21 of this thread.

I've done up more figures, this time regulars from my fictional former Soviet republic Balszakistan (my games are set in the early '90s).  I did up a previous batch and showed them off earlier in this thread.

This batch, like the first one, is in 28mm, and includes figures from both Eureka Miniatures and Khurasan Miniatures.  As a fictional FSR, I went for a vaguely Russian flavor, with a mix of uniforms, weapons, and gear.

These 2 pics show 2 marksmen, and an RPG team.

These 4 pics show 10 men armed with AKs (some with UGLs).

With these chaps and the previous batch, that gives me a platoon of 25 men - 2 leaders, 2 marksmen, and 3 squads of 7, shown below.

Next up is the Platoon Sergeant and RTO, 2 M60 MG teams, an anti-armor team, and an attached sniper team, all for my US platoon.  Painting on this batch of figures is underway...

After them should follow 17 Russian OMON troops, the US 3rd squad, an African DShK team, and 8 African civilians (in batches, of course).  The OMON troops will see action in Balszakistan, and the Africans will be for my Northern Gambola games (also set in the early 90s).  The US boys will see action in both those hot spots, and likely more...

Pics to follow all of these, of course...

You are fleshing out the forces quite nicely there, Jim! I especially like the mix of uniform styles to give them an irregular "regular" appearance...  lol

Great AAR’s, and fun by the sounds of it.
I like the way you have used other sources for your scenario, and then adapted.
Lots more exciting fun to come by the sounds of it.

Thanks, Mike.  That's exactly the look for which I was going...

Thanks, flatpack.  There are more scenario adaptations wandering around in my headspace as I speak (well, type, really).  Which should indeed translate to more adventures in Balszakistan and/or Northern Gambola (and perhaps eventually my fictional Central American country - El Perdomo.

And now, for more US Infantry from the late 80s and 90s.  All 28mm.  First up is the Platoon Sergeant and his RTO.  They are both MoFo Miniatures,  Due to a tragic firearm accident, I had to give the Sergeant a new fore-end and barrel for his M16, courtesy of a plastic one from a Warlord ProjectZ survivors weapons frame.  I also added a wire antenna for the RTOs Prick77.

Here are 2 M60 MG teams.  Both MoFo Miniatures.  The loader has a Stan Johanson Miniatures M16 lying on the ground next to him.

And these are an anti-armor team and an attached sniper team.  The AT team are both Stan Johansen Miniatures.  The chap kneeling with the LAW has one of their M16s lying on the ground next to him, while the AT4 gunner has a plastic Warlord ProjectZ survivors weapons frame M16 slung on his back.  The sniper team are from Wargames illustrated's Giants in Miniature range.

Here are a couple shots of the batch together.

With these guys, that gives me a Platoon HQ of a Platoon Leader, Platoon Sergeant, their RTOs, and a medic.  I've got 2 9-man squads done, with a 3rd squad waiting their turn after I finish a Russian OMON unit I started today.  I have these 4 weapons support teams, and 2 Humvees.  I just have to decide what kind of armor I want, given these guys' likely deployment to Balszakistan, Northern Gambola, and/or El Perdomo...

I've finished the Russian OMON troops.  While technically part of the MVD's National Police, they saw direct action in Latvia and Lithuania in the early 90s, as well as the Russian Parliament itself during Yeltsin's rise to power.  They also saw front-line combat duties in both Chechen wars.  So, I see no reason they wouldn't be sent to Balszakistan...

And they always deployed in their trademark "urban-pattern" camo uniforms, and with a variety of tactical vests and helmets.  While they had access to armored vehicles like BTR80s and (according to some sources) tanks, these chaps will be sent in to Balszakistan as light infantry.

All these figures are 28mm Tiny Terrain miniatures.  I was smart/lucky enough to get both their Kickstarters.  First up are the leaders.  You can tell they are leaders, as each has a portable communication device on them...and one has an AK with a GP-25 UGL.

These guys are the PKM gunners.  Please note that the AGS-17 gunner is going to my Russian Motor Rifle Platoon, and is uniformed accordingly.

These fellas have scoped weapons (an SVD and what appears to be a 9A-91 SMG) and AKs with GP-25 UGLs.

These guys all have various AKs.

I'm still researching OMON's small unit organization, but for now here is how I have them organized - A unit leader, a marksman, and 2 7-man squads.

Next up will be the 3rd squad for my US platoon (which will complete that platoon).
