Are those Gum Tree seed pods?  Not a bad idea. Reminder  to self: all good ideas are stolen.
With the abundance of pumpkins at this time of year, pumpkin stems once dried make unusual bad forest scatter terrain pieces. Their flat base allows the stems to be erected on a large base. Once enough stems are deployed, a creepier place is hard to find.

Not sure of the specific tree they're from, I picked them up when I was in Charlotte NC a few years back, the trees were pretty common in the parking lots.

Finished building a barn - it uses 2mm mdf as a basic building then planking from cereal packs.  The roof is corrugated craft paper.  Front steps and foundations made from blue foam.

Fantastic barn. The texture of the card come across very well as subtle woodgrain and I love the overgrown bushes.

Love the way the greenery grows onto the roof.
It helps to fool the eye into thinking the roof is
not removable. Well done.
