Αντίο φίλοι μου - Farewell My Friends
« on: November 17, 2021, 10:00:35 PM »
I said good bye to my Ancient Greeks. They have been sitting in the dark, in a box, on a shelf, in the cupboard for about 5 years. I'm one who prefers to see painted miniatures on the table rather that put away and never used so I decided to sell them to someone who will put them on the battlefield so they can defeat Persia once more. Making this army was a labour of love. They are 95% AB Figures with a few Xyston included. I didn't know at the time that you can buy shield decals so I painted them all by hand (the shield rims in black and white were a killer). It gives them character.

Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

You might want to change your heading, it shows up as code on the home  page.

I don't understand. I see it as Greek.

On my iPad,on the forums main page in the left hand ‘recent’ column it shows up as code. I’ve seen this on a few posts where Cyrillic et cetera is used. Maybe Westfalia Chris knows something about it?

Yes. I see it correctly as Greek in this thread or if looking at the subforum. Only in the "recent posts" column on the frontpage is it all buggered up.

Presumably the "recent posts" column is missing a function which allows it to parse international unicode, even though the rest of the forum displays it properly.

Will you not regret selling that lovely army one day?

I have absolutely no doubt about that. But it sits in a box and is never used. What's the point in holding onto something just for the sake of holding on to it? I'd rather see it get used for what it was made for.
