Actually pretty good.    I have only applied a primer spray a5 this point…but as you can see, no real issues.

Cheers fella.

I would be glad to get the ones I’ve planned finished tbh!   I am half way through Clifford’s archers…then I have one more unit of archers to go with the above billmen.   That will be Andrew Trollope chaps.  I really couldn’t find if his guys had a coloured tunic….so I’m doing them in their own clobber.   I may put the odd archer in a green and white one but otherwise they will be pretty vanilla.   I deliberately popped a knight in the above billmen unit so it reminds me they are veterans.

I have probably overdone the points…having about 170.  I read most people play with about 120….but I haven’t played yet so I’m not too sure!   I have pretty much all the minis now to do the Yorkists.
170 is not too much for an evenings gaming, however, it's probably a bit big for a first game. You could split your force in two and play a solo learning experience. The game lends itself well to solo gaming if course, it's much more fun with an opponent
I have a bad case of prescient nostalgia. The future's not what it used to be.

Thanks for taking the time out to photo the building. The print lines are only faintly visible. They have some nice pieces in their range.

No worries.

I decided to put together a couple of command stands and the men at arms that will represent a few standards for my Yorkists.  As mentioned, I could then divide my force to try a little game or two.

Decided to mix in a couple of earlier medieval types here…..my thinking being good Yorkshire men ( some of them anyway), they wouldn’t throw away good armour lightly! Lol

Anyway, getting paint on these and a last Lancastrian archer unit should allow me to start playing….

The logic of, 'In the Kingdom of the blind, the one eyed man is King'
An old bit of armour is better than no armour.
I'm sure that at the start of the English Civil war
a lot of rich families raided grand-dad's old clobber for protection.

I suppose the difference being at the start of the ECW…we had been at peace for a long while…whereas there seemed to be constant bloodshed somewhere or other leading up to the WOTR me thinks.   Let’s be fair, we’d been sparring with French for a fair while.

However, I’m sure that some bits of cherished / expensive armour would have seen longer life than others.

Ah, but where there is fighting, equipment will be lost, and therefore need replacing.
Next time we meet up remind me to tell you the story of the squaddie & his pay packet in 1966.

Jolly good job David, and done in double quick time. Well done 8)

If you're planning on using for Billhooks, it might be worth adding a mounted commander, 'cos light cavalry without a leader are of limited usefulness.
They move so fast (which is their point, to be fair :)) it's almost impossible for a leader on foot to keep up with them and thus keep them within his 12" command radius. And without someone to give them orders, they aren't a lot of use.

Just a thought, based on bitter experience of my first few games of Billhooks lol (before I learned!)
