Ridged Rim Aliens
« on: 03 November 2009, 12:03:13 PM »
I just finished painting these figures for Gary Mitchell to use on his website (http://homepages.tesco.net/mitchellsmith/gazfssv.html)

Yes I know they bear a striking similarity to a certain alien race from a certain TV show...

It is certainly fair to assume this with a certain degree of certainty, I´d say!  lol

Very nicely done. I like the various metal effects. Very clean and shiny, especially the gold parts.

Nicely done!

I really like what's happening with the Space Vixen range from Gary, although I've not succumbed just yet. I do love the retro 80s SF vibe…

Very nicely done. Great looking figures...they certainly would go well with Matashiki's space figures!! Thanks for sharing.

The pointy-eared rim aliens on the Gary Mitchell site would work too.

Yay! Cornish-pastie heads!  8) :-*

These look great and the paintjobs are perfect adverts for Gary's figures, but they are so close to the TNG K******s that I hope they don't get lawyered to death  :(

I must get some!

Hi Chaps - thanks for the favourable comments about the Rim Aliens range - and Nck wonderful paint jobs. I have no UD distributor at present, but Us customers can order direct from my website at http://homepages.tesco.net/mitchellsmith/gazfssv.html

I shall try and update it soon with the new colour pics.

I already have my finger on the order-button, but could someone check how well these match Matakishis stuff size-wise? Doesn't have to be an exact match, but preferrably close.

If only the Rim Aliens were "Original", not "Next Generation"... And has anyone come across a suitable shuttle?

I'm at work so don't have access to the figures to measure them until this evening. Unless Gary answers first, I'll check then!

They measure 32mm to top of their ridged heads, I don't have any of Matakishi's figures to compare them to though

Matakishi hinted that one day, just maybe, he would be doing some Aliens in big black boots, polo-neck jumpers and shiny metallic tank-tops to complement his not-ST figures  ;D

An avalanche of e-mail requests would make help his mind up, I'm sure  lol

I seem to recall that Matakishi's are quite small, but still compatible with Foundry etc, but of course I've misplaced them so can't be sure  >:(
