Nice work.
After reviewing your Re: Back to Africa: Arabs link
How about a battle report?

Need to finish painting those damn Arabs before I can play with them.

But as it happens I am doing a bit of just that today. Dunno when we will get to play a game though. Have to wait and see.

Thanks Plynkes,

That puts me in the right direction.  Will definitely get some post up in the next couple week.  Lets call my project the "Not so Force Publique" for now.

Great stuff; which figures did you use for the Zande Scouts and the Cannibals?

The cannibals are from the Foundry Darkest Africa range. I couldn't tell you the exact pack as they were a birthday present from my mate, and didn't come in official packaging. I think he got them off eBay. I managed to scrounge together enough similar-looking shields from the bits box, as they came without any (that's why they don't match exactly, some have wicker shields and some have wooden ones).

The scouts are Copplestone Azande musketmen. Though I seem to recall one of them is actually a Foundry figure, again an Azande sculpted by Mark Copplestone, though.

The gun itself is from Copplestone Castings, it is sold with a Royal Navy crew and parts to make it into either a Gardner or a Nordenfelt. All three crewmen are just Foundry Force Publique officers/NCOs. The one manning the gun is slightly converted. He started off life brandishing a sword. I simply cut that arm off and gave him the arm of the British sailor that comes with the gun (the arm is a separate casting which makes things even easier).

Unfortunately, I just checked the Copplestone site and it seems the gun isn't currently available. Couldn't find it there.
