In order to put my figs up for the LPL they have to be previously unseen, but can I post WIP pics on my blog, or does that make them ineligable for the compertition?

Great!  I'm a painfully slow painter, but I'd love to try this out.  If anything, it'll be a great chance to work on my photography skills.

Well strictly speaking, to qualify for 'new team' bonus points, a team should be previously unpublished in its finished state. Which would mean it's okay to show some WIP pictures elsewhere.

Probably best to understand the reason for the rule though - which is that we all want to see newly painted things for the LPL - not just old stuff trotted out again. Hence the bonus points for 'new' teams.

So philosophically, I'd say it's okay to post some early WIP shots of an LPL team on your blog - but if you post pics of largely completed figures, then you'll be in danger of going against the letter of the rules, if not the spirit.
So safest not to if you want the bonus points

Reagrding the rule pertaining to image composition:

The entry picture may NOT be a collage of individual pictures, but should be a "group shot" of the complete team, possibly in a decorated environment, or in front of a plain backdrop. You may, however, add some closeups of small aspects, like faces, equipment, etc., but the main focus of the image must clearly be on "the team".

Is it permissible to include a short title in a text banner within the image - something describing what the team represents?  For example:

"Arthurian war band, c 500 AD"

Yes, it's permissible to include text within the overall image.
Several people did in the last LPL, although you don't need to, since the title of each entry will be given in the relevant match.

You can, but keep in mind that there are some transgression which Richard and Alex at the time let slip (guilty!). Also remeber that the rules may have changed somewhat.
