I had heard about those.  Andy at Heresy was working on a Crabman and got a message from  Khurasan along with concept art that they were working on one.  I know Andy said they would be smaller then what he had planned so 15mm is possible for that one.  I am not sure if Heresy are still going through with the plans to make one.

The Khurasan model is 9' tall...in 15mm. Makes it way too small to look fierce with 28mm. I am still watching intently the Heresy figures progress - its possible existence is why I have started painting some old crablike critters from Citadel Rogue Trader days to use as Mirelurks for now. I was trying to work with mezzoloths from the D&D collectibles, but they are just too poorly sculpted.

You have Ambulls...? :P :P :P

Erm I mean - don't look a thing like Mirelurks at all - you may as well let me take them off your hands!  ;D  ;)

Yeah, I think that is what they are called. I have two of them - have for freakin' ever. If you really want one, PM me. I am sure we can come to an agreement - I am not very attached to them.

And we have updates!

First off, we now have ants in our pan...er...Fallout universe. I used the Khurasan ants. A bit small for what the size was in the video game, but I liked the scupts far far better than those utter crap Mega Miniatures ones. A friend of mine had some of those, and they were not worth bothering with. These are beautiful, if a bit small.

And the final board is now being worked on. The river is finally beginning to be poured, as I use those ubiquitous 40% coupons Michaels sends out to get my multiple layers of envirotex lite poured. This is the second layer already on. I poured one clear, and then the second layer has a bit of phenocyaline green acrylic paint stirred into it. It is actually a bit darker than I wanted, but I'll live with it. I plan on putting 2-3 more layers over this, at a rate of one every week or so, as I get another coupon and buy another 32oz set. At least this way I can't rush the project.

and now... TALON COMPANY!
I painted a set of old Necromunda Van Saar gangers to be the ever-present Enclave lapdogs, who try to take you down at every turn if you happen to be a good guy, which I inevitably end up being. Too many of the evil choices lead to enslaving people, and I just can't tolerate that mentally, so I end up doing the right thing in spite of myself. Is it odd that I have to make a concerted effort to be evil?

This kid wants your head on f#$@ing platter...

Now, I try to paint some townsfolk.

The River is awesome. And a good choice for the Talon Company Mercs.

This motivates me to speed up my project as well.

Keep the pictures coming.

"Ze body of ze ant is divided into three zections - ze head, ze thorax and ze abdomen." ;)

Excellent work. Those ants are indeed very nice, and strike an excellent compromise between size and quality. That mouldline (?) on the kid looks horrible, though. ;)

The river looks really good, if something of a nightmare to store.

This project really is progressing at a great pace.  While you are getting a lot of the stuff built painted to a very acceptable "tabletop standard", the sum of the parts is that much more impressive than the whole.  The shot of the table from a while back really is great.

You will have a lot of gaming fun with the finished project I reckon :)

Honestly, I didn't even notice the line until I was doing the finish detail, and at that point, it got to stay.

Tha only problem with the ants was that they are angled to the table on the base - so I glued them to buttons in order to give them enough room off the table to be picked up.

And the River piece is all done. I'll need to build a bridge later, but for now, 5 layers of Envirotex Lite later, she is all done.

And some poor unfortunate soul sank in it, too.

I found that it was remarkably easy to throw a few drops of ink or paint into the envirotex to tint everything - and you know you have it miwed well when there are color variations left. Now, onward, to paint more souls!

Poor sod was doomed anyhoo. His suit would have been excellent fodder for target practice if anything. Have to say I certainly like the placidity of the murky canal.

And the next update. Those poor radioactive fellas we all feel sorry for - as long as they aren't feral, and aren't trying to chew our legs off - Ghouls.

I was particularly happy with the power fist - the yellow stripes I managed to keep somewhere close to straight. It isn't Captain Blood or Orctrader quality, but with my tendonitis issues, my painting never will be, so why worry about it?

The ghouls are a mix of Catachan plastics, zombies, free company and other random bits. One fellow is actually Skaven with a Chaos mutant head and a Catachan body.

Nice. The GW zombies are perfect for ghouls. Great inspiration.
