Nice work - love the gobbo - The Good, the bad and the ugly rolled into one!

You could work up some fun rules for using them as a mercenary force within a human army - something along the lines of the Warhammer rules for animosity amongst orc and goblin units but in this case between your landsnecht orcs and the Empire troops who are maybe feeling a little dubious as to where their loyalties lie and are perhaps not so keen about forming up next to them in the battle line...

That's an interesting line of thought. I'm sure the halflings would feel a little squeamish near them too. And I can see a unit of dwarves breaking ranks to go head on with the orcs after being called "stunties" by them. lol

Someone on another forum said the gobbo looked like George W. Bush... and it does...  lol

Well, he was a bit of a cowboy!!!  lol

Yeah, sounds like a good idea though. Or if you are into games which are run by a GM, with several players (one per 'team'), you could have the orc player being VERY obedient, but confuse the human players into thinking that the orcs are not to be trusted at all! Could lead up for a very interesting game!
I love playing with gamers in a game like that, telling them all different things and turning the game into a massive gossiping match!

*'Well he did this and I wanted to do that but I was too busy trying to bash them buggers over the head'! *

Best example of this I have seen is an old Flintloque scenario called 'the missed bridge' in which one of the Ogres had to find a pet dwarf on the table! The only dwarves on the table were from his own side and assumed that the ogre was coming over to help them (i.e. their objective was to wait for ogre assistance against the oncoming undead!!!)

They look really cool, WK! As previously mentioned, the green stuff work on the dwarfs is blending in very well!

I've got three more crossbow dwarves greenstuffed up and about ready for painting. Looks like it's going to be a big unit.

Nah you haven't quite captured that glazed, gormless look in his eyes!

Sorry to bang on about Orcs Drift in your thread but there was a good example of this in the scenario set in Orcs Drift itself. The person playing the Elf contingent had to pretend to be a little deaf and ask his dwarf allie to repeat everything at least twice. The dwarf player on the other hand, in keeping with the dwarf's mistrust of the elves, was instructed to ignore him!  lol

3 more dwarves. One marauder one and 2 citadel ones.

A major conversion on one of the classic citadel drunken dwarves. He was dressed in medieval HYW style clothes, so I sculpted on the puffy sleeves and the yellow overcoat and resculpted the belt (minus the buckle which is the original one).

A minor conversion on this one: the addition of the red tied ribbon on his shoulder and the sleeve on the other arm was made a bit wider, so he fits in a bit better with the empire theme (the shoes were perfect already):

The Dwarf With No Name. A really old, preslotta GW figure. TBH, it was not very enjoyable to paint, rather rough sculpting. But it's a classic. He'll fit in fine as a militia/bountyhunter/witchhunter type.

A group shot of the crossbow regiment so far (still a couple more figures to add to it):

Very nice - and the regiment looks great!

The guy leaning on his axe is one of my favourites amongst the marauder dwarfs. Longing to paint up my own soon... 7 minis between me and treat painting! =)

Your conversions are inspiring!

I might have to look at my dwarf collection again and reconsider how to do them. Most of them are marauder, but I would love for more of them to fit in.  :)

I recognize one of those fellows - nice tailoring on the sleeves!

The drunken dwarf is great too and you've done a superb job with Clint's little brother!  8)

I had to do him as a blonde as in 'The good, the bad and the ugly', people call him "Blondie".  :)

There are two kinds of people in the world, my friend. Those who have short legs and a good aim and those who look like George Bush...

HEY BLONDIE! YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE?! JUST A DIRTY SON OF A B...

I can see some great shoot outs between Blondie and the liitle Green Gringo!  lol

All that talk about WFB civilians prompted me to finish off this conversion of the Hasslefree minstrel into an Empire ministrel:

What do you think?
