Watch and wheep that it fell in my hands (and under my mediocre paintbrush) instead of coming to you where it would have found a paintjob worthy of it's rarity. Alas, 't is what it is, and here is my take on the unreleased marauder dwarf general:

While I had the camera out, I did a quick group shot of the dwarfs so far.

Nice to see one with a bit of paint on it for a change.

Smashing job on a pretty unique model. Not every dwarf army has one. =)

If I should offer any feedback, it's the fact that you did the mane and fur the same colour and tone on the pony. No big deal, it happens in nature - but would've been nicer with a contrast.

Like the base too, nice touch with the shield sticking up!

You are right about the mane and tail. I considered using different colours, but somehow whenever I think about one of those ponies, they look (more or less) like this.

As for the base, since this is but a small pony, it looked a bit empty without some extra "filler". :)

Well I figured it would be silly to let it hidden in one of the boxes of unpainted lead and paint "lesser" models first. ;)

Very nice - never even seen this mini before!

Is he going to get a nice big pennant to flutter from the top of his lance?  :D

I've been thinking about it, not sure yet. Also hesitating about whether to add a shield. I think for now I'll just leave him in his natural state. :)

Wonderful miniature. I wish I had one, I'd use it as a dwarf on shieldbearers!!!

Lovely paintjob too, I think it's good you painted it. It's an insult to the sculptor not to paint it, that's what they're for after all.

That's a good idea, actually, if I want to play them as a dwarf army instead of an Empire army. 8)

Well very nice indeed. Though, I would have done the armour filligrie bits in gold and the mane and tail contrasting:

All fair points.
Well, if I ever do feel like getting back to it, an additional lighter higlight to the mane and tail might create the necessary contrast.
