Basecoat of vallejo german cam. orange ochre, then I use a decoart beige, followed by cream. Only really helpful if you have access to those paints I guess. ::)

Lovely WK, really nice. I love the old school dwarves, although I'm not too sure about their pole arms

What is it you don't like about them? :)

Thanks for the tip, I wonder if there are some GW equivalents.

I specifically don't like the polearms/halberds of the last lot you posted. In my opinion (and this is only my opinion) they look pretty chunky- almost as though the axe head was added on as an after thought.

The halberds on your previous models are much nicer. But hey the miniatures are still fantastic!

Cheers
Andy

well, the creamcolour is a lot like bleached bone, no idea about the beige though.

 :o :o ;D ;D :o :P

I finally get to see them!!! These images were blocked by my work firewall...it was torture waiting to get home...but well worth it!  They seem to fit perfectly and will really help to add some variety to my Dwarf units...can't wait!!! (did I say that already)

Any chance of painted cav?

Cheers,

Blue

When they get back from the mouldmaker. They're on a different mastermould.

Those are awesome WK, they certainly look part of the same range but they are also yours which must just add to the awesomeness.

For the record I don't have a problem with the new halberds.

The dwarf halberdier is a simple conversion of a Marauder dwarf cannon crewfigure. Just added a halberdhead (this one came from an old Heroquest plastic weapon).

The ogre is a conversion of the Marauder ogre with halberd, using a dwarf slayer standard top, a tied halfling from an old metal giant kit, a plastic shield from 6th edition with some added battlewear and a Foundry great orc sword (ramage). Modifications were made to the shape of the hat, the face, the hair, the trousers, the knife in the back was removed as was the small rat, a feather and a large sash were added, in order to make it as different as possible from the original figure (which will also be added to the unit later on).

I just took another enjoyable stroll through your thread. Not only are all your pieces INCREDIBLY COOL, the quality of your painting has gotten noticeably better as you progressed. WONDERFULLY WELL DONE!

Simple but extremely effective conversions, here - spiced with a wonderful paint job. Thank WK, you just made my day.
