Vor the Maelstrom for VSF
« on: 06 May 2010, 02:58:12 AM »
I was digging through a box recently and found a copy of Fasa's Vor miniatures rules. I was never much a fan of the setting but I really enjoyed the rules. Best of all, you could create your own army list based on whatever minis you had sitting around. These rules are bare bones and it was promised that they would be expanded in a future supplement (didn't happen). They worked great though. My group played Not-40k and some other oddball games with it. Most notably, we used it to play Flintloque. The game's turn sequence made for some tense games. It was surprising how well it worked for Napoleonic style skirmishing.

So why not VSF games? I'm going to have to give it a try some time.

"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

:D Well, it was more of a suggestion that somebody else try it before I finally get off my butt and do it myself. I'm also curious if anyone else still plays the game.

Kicked off rather well in America didn't it.

Strange you used it for Flintloque, understandable as the first edition of FLQ is rather 'clunky'.

Never played Vor, but I hear it is being rereleased.  :)

Damn, we're TOO numerous! We need more of the 'wish I'd thought of that; I'll nip right out and give it a try' sort of fellows, which, I'll admit, this place has more than it's share.

We, the lazy, salute the rest of you!

In the for what it's worth catagory, (FWIW in the common tongue), I remember a GW-inspired friend taking one look at the Growlers and stating, 'Now THAT'S what Orcs should look like!'
