Uuuh, I'ts lovely to see someone has interest in us Finns.

By the way, have you seen movie "Tuntematon sotilas" (The Unknown Soldier),
if you haven't it's ecxellent movie for anyone interested in the subject, perhaps the best Finnish movie ever made.

If there is something you cant find info about in English, feel free to ask if I can find any in Finnish

Just great project you have there!

Matias.

Umm, I have pretty much littered this forum with references to that movie.

Haha, so silly of me, my eyes betrayed me once again.

My apologies for being blind.

For those who want there are some good Finnish war movie clips here: http://www.youtube.com/user/SSNordost There used to be some of "The Unknown Soldier" and several others but they appear to have been removed sadly. Still, the user might put them back on.

Helen the project looks great so far. I've been very temped by this period myself recently, and the new figures from BAM are making it harder to resist.  :)
Cheers

Hi Bill, Thankyou for your comments.  :) Please start buying Finns and Early Soviets :)

Yes we need to keep onto the folks at BAM about this conflict and hopefully with enough interest from Folks we may see an expansion to this range. If you are not on their Yahoo group nows a good time to join and throw your ideas at them. They are very friendly folk who take the time to message the folk who are always asking about their ranges or coming up with ideas.

Thanks again for your message.

Hi Folks, I've over the past few months been collecting additional reference material to assist my passion for the Winter War and beyond. I wish to say a big thankyou to Peder who sent me three wonderful DVDs on the Finns in the Winter War and the Continuation War plus a book on the Winter War in Swedish. The Tile is "Pansar i Vinterkriget "1939 -1940."

Also a big thanks to all the other kind folk for their assistance and from folks like BAM, Brigade Games, and you who maybe interested in this period too.

As I start to get into left brain painting style with my figures I hope in time to show you the first of the Finns. But until then I'll keep on researching and also pushing support for more Finns from BAM etc. I hope you can support the cause too in your own style.

The book Frozen Hell by William Trotter is an excellent introduction to the period. I've now two more books forthcoming on the Winter War:

"Molotov Cocktail" by John Virtanen and "The Soviet Invasion of Finland 1939 - 1940" by Carl Van Dyke.

Hi Folks,

I saw this thread on the Axis forum about a release of a DVD on the Winter War:

http://www.finnkino.fi/dvd/1749/?lang=eng

I'm now half way through my "Fighter over Finland" as I've finished "A Frozen Hell" which was an excellent read. I'm now awaiting two more books to arrive and I'll be ordering "White Death" by Chew which is suppose to be a very good read.

Hi Folks, Today I received my book " Molotov Cocktail". I'm looking forward to reading this as I believe this maybe the story of the author during his service in the Winter War as an Ordnance Officer and decorated by the Marshall himself for his heroism.
