I can't see in any of the pictures: What is your support under the sponsons? Seems like they wouldn't stand up with just decking as the structure. I would have thought a bit of cylinder extended downwards would do, but even just some structural stuff would work.

Or, chains from above. Still, that's mighty thick decking. I'd not complain as is.

I will say some addition to the tail boom might not be amiss. Perhaps some edge and cross strips with rivet heads, suggesting an iron framework, visually tying the whole thing together.

Maybe even a small walkway on top, or is that too much?

Must say, had some doubts at the start, but it keeps impressing me at each stage.

Beautiful as is, better when painted.

Well done!

Doug

Great stuff Dave, will we be seeing her in action next week ???

Unlikely, as I won't be able to start painting until this weekend. However, I may still bring her along as 'work in progress'.

At the moment I'm concentrating on finishing a new naval landing party unit and reworking my original French 'nef.

Assembly finished, undercoat now drying.

Now to plan my next flyer - could be a Venusian parrotman balloon ... or a commandeered Martian flyer ... or something completely different ....

Venusian parrotman balloon! Venusian parrotman balloon!

I have a couple of those that need finishing/saving. When I move house I might see what can be done.
So many projects..... so little time.......

 :-* Those are great!

What did you use to make the rivets? Did you punch them out of sheet, or did you cut a round rod into short pieces?

From page three of the thread 'After much punching of 2mm discs for rivets'...

Sorry, that's just crazy talk.

Things of beauty, Bullshott, things of beauty. Forget I ever made suggestions.

Uprights are from a model boat shop, as is the brass wire I threaded through to make the hand rail.

Not a problem sir! After you comments I had another look at the tailplane and added 2 lines of rivets along each side of the wood section linking it to the main hull. Looks much better now.
