I'm really overjoyed we got together so many beautiful painted teams. Fantastic work, guys, very impressing!

btw, the deadline for the Round 2 will be next sunday (September 23th). Feel free to join the competition or just enter another team

Don't forget you can join the 1.Season until October 21th.

I couldn't sort my photography out, not having enough macro capabilities. Hopefully I'll figure something out for round two.

I agree with Prof. I find it more of a problem pitching one gengre against the other i.e. Wierd War against Cowboys. ANd the backdrop makes a huge difference. But what the hell, the purpose is to get people to post their work, no?

exactly :)

Of course, we can try it one day with a Weird War/Old West/Pulp/whatever competition.

I don't think that some "sympathy votes" would be a serious problem.  Actually I'm sure that you can recognise most of the painters without their name,

With most of them, I can't

each of us got an unique painting style to paint, make bases/photos etc. So it's not really anonymous, see the experiences of Steve Dean Forum competition.

I didn't follow that competition, but you're right about the differences in painting style etc. But it's all for fun, anyway, isn't it, so it shouldn't matter too much. I just tried to apply some of my useless university knowledge, what with eliminating confounding errors and such

Good lord, I KNEW that my entry being no.13 was BOUND to spell bad luck, but right away like that?!?

Excellent stuff all the way, and some very tough decisions.

Brutal choices indeed. A couple of the people's stuff I could identify without having to look at their names, but I would have to say that the person's identity didn't really play a part in my decision.

But seeing all those magnificent pictures and teams made it like Christmas. I got to work this morning and there were all these beautiful things to look at. Thanks to all you guys who entered.

I use this event to get my butt in gear and start painting. 8)  I don't care about the points, because I know my work can't stand up against masters like vikotnik. For me it's all about viewing the pics, reading funny comments and getting minis ready for play.

I found voting harder then entering!

It's really quite difficult to dispassionately set aside one's own preferences for a given period or sculptor / manufacturer, and focus exclusively on the quality of the paint job. I think I just about managed it, but one or two are indeed very close calls.

Mine not being one of them, alas!

As the painting quality seems quite level throughout, I'm finding myself judging the pictures quite a lot on the other factors: quality of the photos, number of miniatures in the group, coherency and so on. And also theme/period/setting. I think it's perfectly alright to let your personal preference for themes affect your vote. Seeing new painted miniatures for my favourite theme makes me happy.

Looking at these entries, I am SO glad I didn't enter. I'd have been like the guy who shows up at a tuxedo dinner party thinking it was casual-dress.

I was awfully hard to choose between most of the group.  Everything up here looks well painted and some of the pairings were so close together in terms of painting quality that I found myself counting many other factors as well.  Good job guys!
