This is amazing stuff. I have said it before, I love it when an ace painter gives older figures the love. Please start a blog so I can just follow you work as you go.

Hi Pil, I like to think of the soft old minis as veteran warriors of a thousand battles  :) at least its not lead rot!

Hi Super_Gibbon, thanks for the compliment, I think I will start a blog. BTW I just went to your blog, awesome stuff! Your standard bearer Superfig Ox has beautiful muted/faded colours, just gorgeous. The Glock-Roach is sweet too, who makes the mini?

Thanks again

The glock roach is from Superfigs, Old Glory. Thanks for the compliments. Now go start that blog! I have had the itch to do retro fantasy figs and your stuff is inspiring. Good colors and highlights, great metals, great all around.

Hi everyone, I have been busy with school but managed to get this one done. He is a Citadel Paladin; I got him cheap off ebay, pretty fast and easy to paint. I also got some really good tips on photography from a lot of people in the forum (thanks everyone), I think the pics look a lot better.

As always C&C always welcome.

Thanks for looking

Nice job on the armor!  I bet all the other palidins at palidin school called him "Bucky".  Man those are some big chompers on him.  Did you get the photography advice on a specific thread?  I could really use some advice.  Thanks.

Yeah this guy has some pretty big chomppers, but vintage citadel have a lot of character.

As for photography advice I would say do exactly what is written on this site and you can't go wrong.

VERY NICELY DONE! You really do have a FINE touch with the metallic work. I imagine him saying in a very high pitched voice, "Boy this sword is heavy!"

Thanks DeafNala, I really enjoy painting armour. Yeah, he has a pretty big sword plus he's looking up at something and screaming at it.
Kind of a weird mini but fun to paint

Thanks again

Cheers Erny, was checking out your blog today, got some really nice Troll Slayers but was really impressed by what looks like a ton of freehand on the dwarf shields.

Until a coupla years ago I had this last mini.  I had chopped off his head and put an Averland mordheim model in its place.  Then I sold all my Greatswords.  Cool fig though.

Here we have a miniature by Ral Partha, I know nothing about him except he had 1977 stamped on the base; now that is old! He was on ebay painted badly and looking lonely so I picked him up for .99cents; nice and cheap. Let me know what you think of his snow base.

He is a slim little fellow, I took a comparison pic with him next to the Citadel Paladin.

Thanks for looking,
Damien

Really loving the metal work, the shield is also very crisp, I do love a good shield paint job, especially the variety you can inject into shields, they really do give the miniature a very unique character on the tabletop!

Loving the figs shown here!

Nice snow base! I received some old lead skeletons and among them a Ral Partha skeleton from 1979, I think thats the oldest model I have. It's similarly tiny to your model, I have yet to paint it 8)
