That review got me thinking.  If one player rolls an 8 and the other a 1, what stops the first player from goosestepping all over the other guy?

If the player who rolled an 8 goes on 8, then 7, then 6 etc, activating his reducing number of model actions each time, he could potentially crush the other guy.  Yes?

Not sure I'm understanding it correctly.

Anyone who knows better, please clear it up for me.

That's exactly what I was thinking, especially if it happens several times. If that's the case then surely those of us prone to constant unlucky dice rolls would be in for a very one-sided game  :?
...and what fresh new hell is this?

So what difference does each race have over the other?  Are humans better than the elves?  Are the gretchin the same as the skellies?

For that matter, what races are there, and is there a difference between them?

Two main things ( based on reading reports and the comments on FoD)

1) The models have to get the same order. If you roll an 8 then you do get to give orders to 8 models but it has to the same one.
2) Your opponent can take over the turn if you activate models that are within 6" of an enemy model

So while you might be able to get a lot more activations than an opponent it doesn't let you necessarily all that you want and you can't do it without fear of retaliation or your opponent stealing the initiative

You know if you get stuck and want to expand to ship to ship games you could use Pirate! 3 rd edition from Flagship, simple ship to ship rules and they have all the fantasy lists if you so desire and they may be able to be tweaked to accomodate use of both sets. I only say this as I found a copy in my bookshelf and they work with the current smaller ships from flagship, game of war and minimi also gary chalk ships too
