Thanks for sharing this project, matakishi--you've really brought it to life. Great environments.

All VERY COOL & WELL DONE! The skeletons conjure up Harryhausen images of Heroic Warriors led by Steve Reeves...shows what too much T.V. at an early age can do to one's mind...such as it is in my case. INSPIRATIONAL STUFF!

Great project - hope to see ideas for massed battles too... but will certainly be trying out these skirmish rules...

For ideas on E. Howard's Hyborian world, and possible army ideas the following may prove helpful:

See: http://billinghurst.spalding.gen.nz/Webstuff/hobbies/armatihyboria.html, which also provides good summaries so one can easily familiarise oneself with Hyborian armies and cultures and start thinking about possible miniatures to represent them.

The various Wiki articles relating to Conan are also surprisingly good see for example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquilonia_%28Conan%29, which describes the Battle of Venarium the earliest known encounter we have of Conan with the Aquilonians.

http://www.fanaticus.org/DBA/armies/varhyborian.html This is DBA specific so ideal for HOTT fans and the like but some good ideas for army organisation etc.

Otherwise the best source is evidently Lin Carter's "Royal Armies of the Hyborian Age" a must for anyone wanting to create Hyborean armies.

Can't wait to see more Matakishi, Crom would be proud.

See also http://hyboria.xoth.net/history/index.htm for a Hyborean History lesson.
I also think that the Nexus Conan game see http://www.nexusgames.com/read.asp?id=3291 could make an excellent campaign setting for then table top Conan games - has anyone done this?

I did similar with many of the old Avalon Hill games like for example using Kingmaker as a campaign setting for War of the Roses as we had 8 odd players representing then key nobles this was great fun! Another board game that worked well for this was also their cute little Robin Hood game which then translated well to Medieval skirmish games.

Nice idea. Also, if someone has Mighty Empires, it could be used - just use 'Hyborean' minis to mark the whereabouts of characters, standard game pieces for armies/warbands.
