My Zulu War project- Rules available for a modest fee (page 10)
« on: December 11, 2011, 09:23:33 PM »
I plan to get underway with this as soon as 2012 begins and funds are available after Christmas. I've decided on the figures to buy, written the rules and, since it doesn't cost me anything, commenced building.

Here then, sans thatching which will be done later en masse, is the hospital building from the mission at Rorke's Drift. Commissariat store to follow in a day or two.

Construction details here:

More as it happens :)

This looks great, thanks for sharing, I think I will have a go and see if I can make some buildings like this.

Thanks.

Great start, the building on the site looks nice and simple.   :-*

Must make some of your buildings in 2012, I bought some cork tiles in 2010 and they are still sitting there glowering at me..................  :'(

Brilliant as always! I hope to get into Zulu war next year as well and I'll definitely give your 'building system' a go.

It's the last week of term and so things are hectic at work. I've been too tired to want to play around with knives when I get home so the second Rorke's Drift build will be delayed until the weekend. I have posted the project buying list and I'll be writing up The Natives Are Restless Tonight version 2 (for multi based figures) asap so anyone who wants to can join in the fun.

Cork's Drift then, Paul?  :D
It had to happen eventually.
I'm really looking forward to following this one.

Fantastic!

A word of caution before you commence with the commisariat store though, if you have a copy of Rorke's drift by Adrian Greaves check out the photograph of rorkes drift pre-battle.
The common belief holds that the west side of the store was straight edged (as drawn up by Chard) but the photograph shows there was an extension, much like the one on the rear of the hospital, with the roof slightly lower than the main building.

Cheers
