Now that's really neat - normally, I'm more for the Minotaur variety (especially Harryhausen's "Minaton" from "Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger"), but this is very good and a bit more "down to earth" (i.e. not a Minotaur) and "fantastic" (i.e. "living metal") at the same time.

Have you ever seen that Jason two-parter from a few years back? I seem to recall they had a nifty bullomaton in that one. Not a great movie, but that was nice, and your bull reminds me very favourably of it.

(Looks nice and metallic on my screen, too. I won't make any "irony is like bronzey, only made from iron" jokes, promise).

I have the Jason two parter, I think it's good, pretty faithful to the parts of the story it covers. The end with the bull and children of the dragon's teeth is a little let down by cheap CGI but it gets the job done.

The bull is  8). The finish works really well to give him a sense of life. Patinas are fun to paint and really pop, but it may have made this particular fig look old/dead/immobile.

thanks to White Knight! moving this thread to this board he gave me the chance to see it, unfortunately I've missed it last year.

Paul, don't need to say much, you know, you're living inspiration. I've enjoyed this one.

Say, what's your recipe for the bronze? I prefer your Hoplite on p1 with slightly shinier highlights, and a little more verdigris but both are very nice.

Thanks Prof :) More to come in 2012.

Re bronze, both the bull and the hoplite are painted the same it's just the larger flatter areas on the hoplite seem to let it work better.

Not painting anything at the moment so here's my old Charon and his barge to keep things moving along. Made and painted about 14 years ago .

I've long admired that model. I have to thank you for this thread. It inspired me to make an order from Bronze age. Lovely models, excellent service.

It may not be a new creation, but it is a LOVELY, STRIKING piece nonetheless. That was one of the first of your wonderful works I remember seeing...it's just as impressive now as then. VERY WELL DONE!

Wow, impressive model, Paul! I was always wondering why Charon's boat is usually that small in the depictions. Actually he really needs a bigger one. Yours is exactly of the size I would do it. Great work. Now you need a bunch of passengers :)
